My Mum is a fan of margarine, for both cooking and baking. Me, I'm all about olive oil, extra virgin for salads and dressings, light for cooking and baking. Cannabis oil has helped clear a toddler's rare condition that makes his skin develop scales "like a fish". Carter Padelford, two, was born 'red as a tomato' and was diagnosed with genetic disorder lamellar ichthyosis just three days after his birth in November 2016. His skin condition meant his mobility was limited and he was unable to close his eyes. His tight red skin would often crack painfully and his body was unable to regulate his temperature as he could not sweat. The condition affects one in 100,000 people in the US and affects the formation of the outer layer of the skin, causing sufferers to develop dark, plate-like scales. His parents Shai-Anne Sifford and Zach Padelford, both 21, were forced to slather him with coconut oil and shea butter and give him two oatmeal baths a day to soothe him.
