Push start wont start car
A teen who accidentally parked his car on the wrong driveway while working at the Grand National was stunned when it was trashed - after a braying Facebook mob called for it to be damaged. Jack Kavanagh had driven all the way from London to Aintree so he could work at the bar for the big race. Before he set off, the 18-year-old arranged to park his car - which he had owned for just three weeks - on a driveway in Liverpool for £5. But he was unaware that the street name changed halfway down, meaning he unwittingly pulled up in the wrong place. An angry post appeared on a resident's Facebook page later that day, ranting that an "ignorant b******" had dumped a car on her drive and appealing for the public to share it. It prompted a number of irate comments, with some suggesting tampering with the engine, letting down the tyres or breaking windows. As you push open the wooden doors of the beautiful Dyffryn Chapel’s vestry, you are greeted by a broad 70-year-old man. The breadth of his shoulders is second only to that of his thick moustache. Born and bred in the Llynfi Valley, Phil John would cut an imposing figure if he wasn’t smiling. A former Welsh basketball player, he has worked in the youth service in the area for half a century. The chapel itself is a classic rural Welsh chapel – the last remaining of several in the area. As Phil talks about youth work at the back of the room his wife, Jen, is preparing for the third meeting of a newly-formed diabetes support group. She takes a break from the preparations to place an enormous plate of biscuits on the table. After a few minutes they are joined by several other women. Within seconds they have found out who you are and where you are from, as they laugh and joke. These are the sort of social skills that a slick marketing professional would kill for. They make … [Read more...] about The Welsh valley town people’s hearts won’t let them leave

"Your individual actions are key to protecting our planet," could almost be a slogan for our century. That's why I don't have a car, only buy second-hand clothes, barely eat meat, recycle carefully and have even given up one of my favorite indulgences — chocolate cream made with palm oil. Being eco-friendly makes me feel good on many levels — and, we all know, sounds cool. But let's be honest: Does it really make any meaningful difference to the planet? Or am I just soothing my own conscience as the world burns? Is there really anything we can do as individuals to tackle the global problem of climate change? Yes, your actions matter It's frustrating when your day-in-day-out efforts and sacrifices save fewer emissions than someone else's single journey on a private jet. But big change starts with the dedicated actions of a few — where would we be if early suffragists gave up their fight because others refused to engage? "Lots of young … [Read more...] about You won’t stop climate change on your own — demand action!
