A WOMAN cruelly called “pizza face” during her eight-year battle with acne claims taking cannabis tablets cleared her spots up. Emily McClarron was so self-conscious she didn’t want to leave the house. For years she tried everything from antibiotics to homemade face washes, but it wasn’t until she started taking cannabidiol (CBD) capsules that she says she saw a difference. The 25-year-old, from Essex, turned to the controversial treatment after her doctor recommended she try a course of Roaccutane – a powerful acne treatment that can cause some nasty side effects. “The cannabis capsules make me feel more relaxed and stress was a huge trigger for my skin-breakouts,” Emily said. “I read online that cannabis oil can help relieve inflammation, provide pain relief and reduce anxiety. “There may not be many conclusive scientific studies on it, but it’s certainly worked for me.” Some studies have found cannabidiol can help … [Read more...] about Woman nicknamed ‘pizza face’ claims CANNABIS has ‘cured her severe acne’

A MUM-of-two was left looking like an “acid attack” victim after suffering agonising steroid cream withdrawals when she ditched her psoriasis treatment. The 44-year-old was prescribed steroid creams to treat her psoriasis, a condition that causes a build-up of dry skin, 25 years ago. She applied creams sporadically in “small dabs” until 2014, when stress caused by her father needing a triple heart bypass caused a flare-up of her condition. Katy used the creams every day for three months but when she tried to stop her psoriasis would return twice as bad.
