CHELSEA are plotting a winter raid of west London rivals Fulham for wonderkid Luke Harris, it's been claimed. The Wales Under-19 international turned the heads of several clubs last season with a string of stellar displays for the Cottagers' Under-23s. Harris has carried his good form into the new season, scoring a hat-trick against Chelsea last month. And, according to The Mirror, that fine performance has prompted the Blues to weigh up a winter swoop for his services. They claim Chelsea are willing to fork out a whopping £30million to sign the 17-year-old, who has one solitary first-team appearance to his name. The Blues' pursuit of Harris is in keeping with co-owner Todd Boehly's insistence on buying young talent for the future. Dear Bel, My now husband and I had a three-month affair in early 2020 when he was engaged with a two-year-old daughter. I’d been through a divorce, an abusive relationship, then a brief relationship with an alcoholic and, when we met, Bob and I felt instant attraction. We talked for hours; he was so kind and caring. I’d never had an affair before, but had the selfish view that I’d met the man for me —which I’m ashamed to admit. Bob told me his relationship was toxic, with separate beds and interests and arguments. I said I wouldn’t be ‘the other woman’, so he must choose. Bob worried about not seeing his daughter if they split. But he insisted he just wanted to be together and when Covid hit we shared my home. It was hard for his parents, as he had been with his previous partner for eight years and they were used to having their grandchild to stay. I became pregnant in April 2020 —unplanned but we were happy, albeit terrified of what people would think. I’d already … [Read more...] about BEL MOONEY: Why can’t my in-laws forgive me for being the other woman?
The number of dignitaries from around the globe who came to the Queen's funeral underscored the significance of the British family compared to others around the world. But they are far from the only monarchy, and many other royal families have equally important places in the hearts of their subjects, due to the customs they embody and the longstanding cultural relationships they share with the people they reign over. Here are how some of the royal families around the world compare to that in the UK: Longevity The oldest continuous, verifiable, monarchical line still in existence is that of Japan's emperors. There is evidence of an unbroken hereditary line since the early 6th century, with the date usually put at 539CE (539AD). The first emperor in the historical records, Kinmei, ruled until 571 according to the ancient text The Chronicles of Japan. But Japanese legend says there were 25 previous emperors, which some have claimed takes the line back to 660BCE … [Read more...] about How does the UK’s Royal Family compare with others around the world?
Street harassment such as wolf whistling , cat-calling and making sexually explicit comments should be prosecuted if they are aimed at causing distress to women, says new Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) guidance. CPS chiefs are urging police and prosecutors to treat such harassment, indecent exposure and taking or sending unsolicited nude pictures as potential crimes that “should not be dismissed”. They say current harassment laws can be used to prosecute a perpetrator’s words or behaviour if they constitute “repeated attempts to impose unwanted communications or contact upon a victim in a manner that could be expected to cause distress or fear”. Repeated comments “during a single short incident” are unlikely to amount to harassment and prosecutors are advised to consider instead using section 4 of the Public Order Act. “This involves the intention to cause harassment, alarm or distress by words or behaviour. The effect on the victim is an essential element, with … [Read more...] about Wolf whistlers should be prosecuted if they are ‘aiming to cause distress’
