Katie Price rocks high-heeled Crocs on shopping trip with Carl Woods in Thailand after avoiding prison sentence
Katie Price has been spotted picking up some bargains during a shopping trip after flying out to Thailand with Carl Woods following her recent court date. The former glamour model, 44, and her fiancé, 33, were seen picking out some purchases in H&M during their travels as they topped up their holiday wardrobes. Katie kept it casual for the outing in Koh Samui , rocking a white Ralph Lauren dress with a Gucci bumbag around her waist, as well as high-heeled Crocs. The bright pink hybrid Croc with a high heel is believed to be from the brand’s collaboration with Balenciaga and retails at a cool £450, which she wore as a mule rather than in ‘sports mode’ with the strap at the back folded down. Katie and Carl had flown to Thailand earlier in the week after the mother-of-five avoided a prison sentence for breaching a restraining order . She had pleaded guilty to breaching the five-year order not to contact Michelle Penticost, which was put in place in 2019 by … [Read more...] about Katie Price rocks high-heeled Crocs on shopping trip with Carl Woods in Thailand after avoiding prison sentence

My comeback was blocked by Labour factionalism, says former MP
By Joshua Nevett Published 4 hours ago Share close Share page Copy link About sharing A former Labour MP elected under Jeremy Corbyn has accused the party of "factionalism" for rejecting her bid to be a candidate at the next general election. Lisa Forbes sought a comeback in Peterborough, a seat she won and held for six months in 2019. But Labour did not select her after flagging concerns about posts she engaged with on social media from 2019, which were condemned as anti-Semitic by Jewish groups. The party says all candidates have been told why they were not picked. A Labour spokesperson said leader Sir Keir Starmer "is committed to ensuring that being a Labour candidate is a mark of quality". "The Labour leader is determined to stick to his promise to pull anti-Semitism up by its roots and the public have a right to know that everyone the Labour Party puts forward at … [Read more...] about My comeback was blocked by Labour factionalism, says former MP

Tory MP Paul Holmes quits Government job over ‘toxic culture’ at No 10

Paul Holmes, the Conservative MP for Eastleigh, said in a statement published on his website that he had resigned as Parliamentary Private Secretary at the Home Office. A PPS is the lowest rung on the ministerial ladder but the resignation is likely to prompt alarm bells in Downing Street as the Government struggles to move on following the publication of the Sue Gray report on Wednesday. Financial crisis rules are pushing house prices to the edge of a crash
If there is a house price crash coming , it doesn't seem to be much bothering Barclays, which has agreed to pay an eye-watering £2.3bn to buy the specialist mortgage lender Kensington Mortgage Company. The acquisition significantly extends the bank's exposure to mortgage provision and more broadly can therefore be read as a vote of confidence in the resilience of the UK property market. Nevertheless, to be buying at this stage of the cycle, with the economy seemingly on the cusp of recession, interest rates rising sharply to counter surging inflation, and household disposable income under acute pressure, looks odd – and that's putting it mildly. A rising interest rate environment theoretically makes mortgage lending more profitable, but not if it leads to rising defaults. After a brief hiatus during the first lockdown – when the housing market was essentially closed – both the supply of mortgages and the demand for them has boomed, with banks scrambling for market share in what … [Read more...] about Financial crisis rules are pushing house prices to the edge of a crash
Thursday morning news briefing: Secrecy of Meghan bullying inquiry
More than three years after the first complaint was filed, the Duchess of Sussex bullying row has ended just as it began: in silence. Then, it was an email sent between two close colleagues, raising quiet concerns over the treatment of palace staff. Now, it is a secret report blocked not only from the public but even to those who took the time to contribute. Buckingham Palace has confirmed that an official investigation into the handling of bullying allegations made against the Duchess will be kept under wraps. Royal editor Hannah Furness says Meghan is unscathed but unvindicated over the alleged bullying she has vehemently denied. And associate editor Camilla Tominey writes in her analysis that it suggests, for the Firm, family still comes first despite the claims of staff . to avoid being stuck in traffic . No 10 fears Prime Minister faces 'kangaroo court' If you thought partygate was over, prepare for the next stage. The inquiry into whether Boris Johnson … [Read more...] about Thursday morning news briefing: Secrecy of Meghan bullying inquiry
Tragic last words of mum who fell 60ft to her death while taking dangerous shortcut as daughter pleaded for her to stop
A MUM-of-five told her daughter "I'll be fine" just moments before falling 60ft to her death at a beauty spot, an inquest heard. Ruqayya Hussain, 18, pleaded with Tahira Jabeen, 46, not to climb down the steep slope close to the coastal landmark of Durdle Door in Dorset. People on the beach below also urged her to stop, with one yelling: "You're going to kill yourself." But the Asda worker, of Birmingham, kept walking before slipping and hitting rocks on the way down. Tahira, who was wearing black Crocs at the time, was about halfway down the cliff when she slid out of control and plunged onto the beach below. Ruqayya took a photo of her final moments walking down the 120ft cliff and shared it with her sisters, saying: "Look what mum's doing." Tragic mountaineer plunged to death on Snowdon moments after husband asked ‘is it OK? Is it safe?’
An experienced mountaineer looking for a safe route fell to hear death moments after her husband asked her 'Is it OK? Is it safe?'. Jane Wilson was with her partner Gary heading up Tryfan - one of Snowdonia ’s most notorious peaks. But instead of carrying on to the summit they decided to head across its west face, an inquest heard. Trying to negotiate its steep inclines and loose rocks towards Ogwen Cottage using only a smartphone app, Mrs Wilson went ahead of her husband to look for a suitable route. Just as he was asking her whether it was safe, he heard his wife cry out and then the sound of rocks falling. Realising his wife had fallen, and knowing he only had limited first aid capabilities himself, Mr Wilson climbed to a safer ledge to raise the alarm.
