After years of waiting the DLC for Cuphead is finally here, with more rock hard enemy bosses and 1930s style cartoon surrealism. Now that Elden Ring has proven such a massive hit, it’s going to be interesting to see whether other publishers and developers consider the debate over unusually difficult games to be over. Predecessor Dark Souls started the argument and encouraged many games, both those similar in style and otherwise unrelated, to dare to be difficult. It was into this climate that Cuphead was released in 2017 and became another unexpected success, and now it’s finally got its long promised DLC. Apart from being really, really hard, Cuphead has no other similarities to Dark Souls, since it’s a 2D platform shooter inspired by old school arcade games like Contra and Metal Slug. That’s unusual enough in this day and age but it’s presented in the style of a 1930s cartoon, complete with ‘rubber hose’ style animation and creepy looking character designs. The end … [Read more...] about Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course review – animation hour

I’m an appliance expert – what to do if your dryer isn’t drying your laundry before paying a pro
THERE'S a laundry list of reasons (no pun intended) why your dryer may not be working. The dryer not heating, not turning on or starting, not tumbling, or making a ton of noise, are all signs that you should take a good look at the appliance. Luckily, some appliance experts keyed Reader's Digest in on the steps to take when you suspect your dryer is not up to par. MAKE SURE IT ISN'T OVERLOADED You may be trying to jam too much clothes into your dryer all at once. “It is important to make sure the dryer is not being overloaded,” said Gary Childers, a fabric care scientist and appliance expert with Procter & Gamble. “Overloading the dryer can cause issues with drying performance and noise when too much weight is inside the dryer.” Childers advised to never fill the dryer drum more than three-quarters full. I’m a cleaning pro – the $5 product I use to make shirts white when they’re yellowing, no one’s ever heard of it
IF you want your whites to glisten and gleam, it will only take one key product. A cleaning expert has revealed the best way to keep your whites in top condition. In a video shared with her 3.7 million TikTok followers, a woman who goes by @nottheworstcleaner on social media revealed her process for making a yellowing shirt become white again. "If you have white shirts that seem a little gray or were previously bleached, and now yellow, you need to try Liquid Bluing," she said. "All you need to do is dilute a few drops in some cold water and add it to your washer's final rinse cycle if it's a larger load." The cleaning expert mentioned that if you're working on a smaller load, you can use a bucket. "You can just do it in a bucket for about 10 minutes, soak it, and then rinse," she explained. Liquid Bluing can be purchased for just $4.95 at Ace Hardware. According to the cleaning whizz, Liquid Bluing is non-toxic, and not a harsh chemical like bleach, so it … [Read more...] about I’m a cleaning pro – the $5 product I use to make shirts white when they’re yellowing, no one’s ever heard of it
I’m a fashion expert – the 5 clothing items that are making you look older than you are
BEWARE of five clothing items that are making you look older than you are. Fashion YouTuber, Shea Whitney has shared the clothes in your closet that could be secretly aging your look. The first article of clothing Shea advised against wearing if you wish to look young is capri pants. "They are out of style," she said, adding that the pants are "very unflattering," and "they actually cut your leg off at the worst spot." The expert said the cut of the pants makes your legs look way chunkier and stumpier than they actually are. Grenfell, five years on: ‘We know who the guilty are but they remain free’
The pain is still raw; the anger undiminished. Marlene Anderson breaks down in tears as she remembers watching Grenfell Tower burning, the white ash floating out of the sky and landing on her hair and clothes, while inside the building her father – although she wouldn’t officially know it for another two months – had perished in the blaze. Ray ‘Moses’ Bernard, an electrician, who had worked in the House of Lords and at Buckingham Palace, died of suffocation and cyanide poisoning killed by the acrid smoke. By the time his body was recovered, “his remains were no more than 30 per cent of who he was”. Moses, as everybody knew him, was found on the floor next to his bed, his dog, Marley, close by. On the bed were other victims who had sought refuge in the top floor flat as they tried to escape the flames. Among them was Jessica Urbano Ramirez, a 12-year-old girl, who had spent 55 minutes on the phone to 999 emergency operators begging to be rescued, and 12-year-old Biruk Haftom, whose … [Read more...] about Grenfell, five years on: ‘We know who the guilty are but they remain free’

Chris Wallace confronts Apple CEO Tim Cook on removing Parler app, “restricting free speech”
Apple CEO Tim Cook does not consider banning Parler from the App Store to be a threat to free speech. In an interview Sunday with host Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday , Cook defended the tech giant's decision to remove the app after the platform was used to publicly plan and execute riots at the U.S. Capitol Building on January 6 that endangered the lives of legislators and law enforcement. Five people died in the violence. "We don't consider that free speech and incitement to violence has an intersection," Cook said. After the insurrection, Apple , along with Amazon Web Services and Google Play, made the move to ban Parler, an increasingly popular social media platform among conservatives. The app was number one in the App Store, above Facebook and Twitter , earlier this month. Parler has positioned itself as a free-speech alternative to Twitter , though it has removed some content, such as a January 7 post by pro-Trump lawyer Lin Wood reading, "Get the … [Read more...] about Chris Wallace confronts Apple CEO Tim Cook on removing Parler app, “restricting free speech”
