Washington, D.C. — Congresswoman Aumua Amata is pleased to announce that joint efforts between herself, Governor Lolo, and their respective teams in American Samoa and Washington, D.C. resulted in President Trump’s Administration further reviewing American Samoa’s needs related to the impact from Cyclone Gita. Last night the President graciously amended the FEMA disaster declaration for American Samoa by increasing the Federal cost-share by 20% to a 90-10 split from a 75-25 split potentially reducing the ASG cost share by hundreds of thousands of dollars or more. 0 Have your say Police Scotland's most senior officer has expressed concern over how his force will pay for a £5 million security operation being mounted for a potential visit from President Donald Trump. Deputy Chief Constable Iain Livingstone told a meeting of the Scottish Police Authority board that around 5,000 officers will be required for the president's visit, which is expected between 12 and 15 July.But despite having to cancel rest days and rearrange shift patterns, Mr Livingstone said his force had yet to receive official confirmation that the visit will go ahead or whether it will receive any financial support from the UK Government.He said: "I have to stress that we do not have any final confirmation that the president of the United States will actually include any specific engagements in Scotland. Washington and Moscow agree first official summit between Presidents Trump and Putin
WASHINGTON and Moscow have agreed to hold a first official summit between US President Trump and Russia’s Vladimir Putin. The announcement follows a meeting between President Putin and US National Security Adviser John Bolton at the Kremlin yesterday. Bolton confirmed the meeting would take place and said Moscow and Washington would announce the details “simultaneously”. Speaking from Washington, Trump said the meeting could take place in Helsinki after next month’s NATO summit in Brussels. He said he and the Russian leader would discuss the war in Syria and the situation in Ukraine. Mr Trump last met the Russian president in November at an Asia-Pacific summit in Vietnam. Trump, who answered questions as he met with President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa of Portugal in the Oval Office, called the biggest international sporting event ''exciting. My son loves soccer and he loves watching the World Cup and they have really done a fantastic job. It's exciting even if you are not a soccer fan." President Trump says process to replace Kennedy on Supreme Court will ‘begin immediately’

Trump told reporters the process would "begin immediately ." The president said he would review an existing list of 25 candidates for the opening. The list was put together to fill the seat now held by Justice Neil Gorsuch. It was developed in consultation with conservative legal scholars. "It will be somebody from that list," Trump said. Among the front-runners is Judge Brett Kavanaugh of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
