The true cost of an Everton Premier League win claims to have been revealed in a major piece of data analysis. Number crunchers at BetVictor have gone through the wages of every Premier League club since the top flight of English football was rebranded in 1992 to help understand whether all that money – some £24billion in total across the division – has been well-spent. The sum of Everton's wages comes at just under a billion pounds (£985,435,201)* with an average finishing position of 10.32. Chelsea came out on top in total spent on wages (over £2.67billion) – more than the totals of Everton and Tottenham Hotspur combined while across Stanley Park, Liverpool's total bill of over £2billion was more than double that of their neighbours. Roy Hodgson has become the oldest manager in Premier League history. The boyhood Crystal Palace fan first took charge of the Eagles in September 2017 and last season steered the club clear of relegation trouble before attempting to steady the ship this term. Earlier in his Palace reign, Hodgson moved past Sir Alex Ferguson and on Sunday eclipsed Sir Bobby Robson’s record to become the oldest boss in the 26 years since the top flight was rebranded as the Premier League. At 71 years and 192 days, the former England manager will take charge of his side against Doncaster in the FA Cup on Sunday before underlining his status as the Premier League’s oldest manager away at Leicester on Saturday evening.
