A same-sex couple is outraged after their daughter's school said she could no longer attend because of their marriage. Jennifer and Emily Parker officially adopted Jennifer's 5-year-old niece Zoey on August 3. The girl's father died in an industrial accident in 2020, KPLC reported. Zoey attended Bible Baptist Academy in DeQuincy, Louisiana, for pre-K and was due to start kindergarten on Monday. But at the weekend, the Parkers were told that Zoey could no longer attend. R&B singer R. Kelly was sentenced to 30 years in prison today following a positive conviction on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. I encourage the writer of a recent letter to look beyond the Bible and take a deeper look at how religion has led to victim shaming and used shame to control women. If sex is about responsibility, then start with the years of sexual abuse against children that religious leaders have covered up for decades. Do you know what else is about responsibility?
