A same-sex couple is outraged after their daughter's school said she could no longer attend because of their marriage. Jennifer and Emily Parker officially adopted Jennifer's 5-year-old niece Zoey on August 3. The girl's father died in an industrial accident in 2020, KPLC reported. Zoey attended Bible Baptist Academy in DeQuincy, Louisiana, for pre-K and was due to start kindergarten on Monday. But at the weekend, the Parkers were told that Zoey could no longer attend. Emily Parker shared her outrage in a post on Facebook , writing that school officials called the couple for a meeting "TWO days before school starts to tell us that they can not educate our child due to the fact that we are a married same sex couple. Even though this isn't her first year to attend." During the meeting with the school's principal and pastor, Emily Parker told KPLC, the pastor "started talking about gender identification and that they teach the words of the Lord and marriage was between a man … [Read more...] about School turns away 5-year-old girl who was adopted by same-sex couple

R. Kelly Sentenced To 30 Years In Prison Following Sex Trafficking Conviction | The Daily Wire
R&B singer R. Kelly was sentenced to 30 years in prison today following a positive conviction on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. U.S. District Judge Ann Donnelly handed down the sentence following a three hour hearing, Fox News reported . Kelly showed no outward reaction and did not address the court after sentencing. The victims held hands as the decision was read. Unlike Kelly, the victims were not silent during the hearing. “You made me do things that broke my spirit. I literally wished I would die because of how low you made me feel,” one woman said while addressing the recording artist . “Do you remember that?” Another victim tearfully said that Kelly being sentenced made her believe in justice. “I once lost hope,” she said to the court, “but you restored my faith.” “I was afraid, naive and didn’t know to handle the situation,” she continued, speaking of the assault that occurred when she was a teen. “Silence is a very … [Read more...] about R. Letters: Stop shaming women for sex; instead, contribute to helping other children
How can we preach sex responsibility when so many communities refuse proper sex education in order for people to make responsible decisions? The emphasis on consequences is an archaic mentality that being sexual is something that should be punished. I encourage the writer of a recent letter to look beyond the Bible and take a deeper look at how religion has led to victim shaming and used shame to control women. If sex is about responsibility, then start with the years of sexual abuse against children that religious leaders have covered up for decades. Do you know what else is about responsibility? Everyone working together for a better society, which includes maternity leave, health care, universal pre-K and equal rights. In other countries, it's shameful not to help others. Here it's shameful to need help. Shaming people has never stopped people from having sex or led to better decision-making. Instead, I would like to see pro-birth advocates focus their efforts on the … [Read more...] about Letters: Stop shaming women for sex; instead, contribute to helping other children
Couple deported from NZ after husband caught running illegal sex ring
A married couple has been deported from New Zealand after the husband was caught profiting from illegal sex work . The pair, from Brazil, have been in New Zealand since 2016 and have had two children – a 3-year-old son and an infant daughter – while living here. Man’s reaction to partner introducing surprise puppy delights internet
A woman surprised her partner with an adorable puppy on TikTok that has delighted the Internet in a clip that has garnered over 1 million views. In the video titled "When you buy a dog without telling your partner," which was posted by user Abi Wilson-Watson on July 31, the woman walks up to her partner, who is sitting outside a U.K. pub near what appears to be a summer village fete. "Are you videoing us?" the partner asks. "No, the rides," she answers. The woman's partner then points at her and says with a smile on his face, "No, he's just f***ing said it, don't honestly." "We just bought a dog," she replies. The breed is identified by Wilson-Watson as a toy poodle in the comments section. After a few confused seconds, the woman's partner repeats: "Shut up, are you taking the piss? How much was it? Are you taking the piss? Shut up no you didn't!" "Swear on my life," she replies. After confirming how much it cost, the surprised partner then stands up only to have the … [Read more...] about Man’s reaction to partner introducing surprise puppy delights internet
Being gay is not a disease, Vietnam tells its medical workers in bid to end anti-LGBTQ discrimination
Hanoi — Being gay is not a disease, Vietnam has told its doctors, as it called on medical workers to end discrimination against the LGBTQ community. Campaigners told AFP on Tuesday the statement was a major step forward for LGBTQ rights in the Southeast Asian nation, where gay, bisexual and transgender people have long felt marginalized. In an official document released last week, the health ministry said that "homosexuality cannot be 'cured', does not need 'to be cured' and cannot be changed." It urged medical professionals to be "respectful" of gender and sexual orientation after receiving reports of doctors claiming they could treat gender minorities. "Do not consider homosexuality, bisexuality or being transgender a disease," it said. Although Vietnam is seen as relatively progressive on LGBTQ issues compared with some other countries in Asia, misinformation about sexual orientation and gender identity is widespread. According to a Human Rights Watch report published … [Read more...] about Being gay is not a disease, Vietnam tells its medical workers in bid to end anti-LGBTQ discrimination
Teen ‘scared to go out’ after random thugs assault him twice in one month
A 14-year-old boy who was violently assaulted by teenagers twice within a month is speaking out to raise awareness of the issue. New Brighton teenager Blayke, who did not want to have his last name published for fear of his safety, has endured two beatings, fled a shopping centre and had a youth try to steal his sneakers. Crime expert Dr Jarrod Gilbert said while youth crime, including assaults, was static long-term, there has been a spike since the Covid-19 pandemic for reasons that weren’t entirely clear. “It’s concerning.” Police data supports Gilbert’s analysis, showing a 15% increase in acts intended to cause injury in the year ended May 2021 between youths aged 10 to 19 – rising by 1093 recorded incidents to 8388. California is no Garden of Eden. It is now a woke basketcase whose rich and poor are fleeing alike
That Nick Clegg has become the latest Facebook executive to announce he’s fleeing Silicon Valley for Blighty , where he will spend half his time, says a lot about California. Britain is on the brink of a deep and protracted recession, with inflation set to rise to 13 per cent. Formerly thriving people will struggle to feed their families, heat their houses or go anywhere, since the railways are riddled with massive strikes and airports are chaos. We are lazy: even now, there is an acute labour shortage as people prefer not to work. And we are angry: GP surgeries, call centre staff and shopworkers have all reported a surge in abusive behaviour. Even so, basketcase Britain seems to be preferable to California. It’s not just Clegg: Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, owned by Facebook parent group Meta, and the firm’s chief marketing officer Alex Schultz, have also chosen to relocate to Britain. Clegg, who six months ago was promoted to head of global affairs at Meta, in charge of … [Read more...] about California is no Garden of Eden.
