NUMB with grief, Voletta Wallace looked out at the crowds lining the streets of Brooklyn to pay their respects to her son, Christopher - but didn’t shed a tear. The single mother had just buried her only child - known to the world as the Notorious B.I.G - after his tragic death at the age of 24. But, as she reveals in the new Netflix documentary Biggie: I Have A Story To Tell, it was not until she heard his album, prophetically named Life After Death, that she was able to cry. “Coming from that funeral I felt I was in a dream,” she says. “I wasn’t crying. That day it was just too heavy. I never shed a tear. I didn’t have any. “I saw the crowd. And thought ‘Oh my God, this kid was well loved. That’s when I saw the love.’ “It only really hit me when I listened [to his album]. I only listened to his album once, I didn’t want to listen twice. Then the tears came.” With exclusive access to family and childhood friends, the documentary looks at the life of B.I.G, … [Read more...] about Biggie Smalls’ mother reveals why she didn’t cry at his funeral as Netflix doc charts his rise from drug dealing teen

Climate change: Global CO2 emissions bounce back to pre-COVID levels, International Energy Agency study finds
Global emissions have rebounded to worrying levels after a historic decline in 2020, according to new data. And the International Energy Agency (IEA), which has compiled the data, says ensuring that 2019 marks a definitive peak in global CO2 emissions will be "extremely challenging". The IEA says the COVID crisis in 2020 triggered the largest annual drop in energy-related carbon dioxide emissions since the Second World War. It also says avoiding a rebound in emissions requires "rapid change" around the world in how energy is used and produced. In April 2020, global emissions registered their largest ever monthly drop. But by December they were two per cent higher than the same month a year earlier. Advertisement "The rebound in global carbon emissions toward the end of last year is a stark warning that not enough is being done to accelerate clean energy transitions worldwide," said Dr Fatih Birol, the IEA executive director. "If governments … [Read more...] about Climate change: Global CO2 emissions bounce back to pre-COVID levels, International Energy Agency study finds

Five world class strikers Man Utd could try to sign including Kane and Haaland after Carragher’s transfer warning
MANCHESTER UNITED lack 'quality' upfront and 'need a centre-forward more than anything', according to Jamie Carragher. And SunSport have detailed five big name strikers the Red Devils could sign at the end of the season. The Red Devils failed to score against a fellow member of the 'Big Six' for a sixth time in a row against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon. And while accusations of 'boring, boring Man Utd' have been levelled at boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his team, pundit Carragher doesn't think the Norwegian is to blame. He said on Sky Sports MNF: "In that final third they just didn't have that quality. "When the ball actually goes up to the front players - is there enough quality? "You've said they're the top scorers in the Premier League . "But have they got that player to score in the decisive games, that player that's going to take them to the league title? "And when I look at that, people talk about Manchester United, they need a … [Read more...] about Five world class strikers Man Utd could try to sign including Kane and Haaland after Carragher’s transfer warning
