The Masked Singer’s Joel Dommett says one finalist will be a ‘real surprise’

· February 12, 2021 ·

Joel Dommett has revealed that one of The Masked Singer finalists will be a "real surprise" to viewers watching at home. The 35-year-old comedian, who hosts the ITV show, appeared on Loose Women on Friday to tease the panel ahead of the final this weekend. Asked by head panellist Jane Moore if he knows who the celebrities are beforehand, he replied: "I have absolutely no idea until the reveal happens." However, the series was filmed last year so Joel knows who is performing as Badger, Sausage and Robin. "The final three are all incredible names, and one of them especially no one’s really been saying online that much so it’s going to be a real surprise," he continued. Jane and her co-hosts Nadia Sawalha and Kaye Adams began teasing Stacey Solomon as they believe she is the voice behind Sausage, but of course she continued to deny it. Jane told Joel: "I was going to say, 'c’mon is Stacey Sausage'?" to which he replied: "Sorry but contractually I can’t say." … [Read more...] about The Masked Singer’s Joel Dommett says one finalist will be a ‘real surprise’

Spanish zookeeper killed by elephant ‘accidentally’ smashing him with her trunk while protecting calf

· February 25, 2021 ·

A ZOOKEEPER has been killed by an elephant in Spain after the animal hit him with its trunk. Joaquin Gutierrez Arnaiz, 44, smashed his head on the iron bars of the enclosure after the elephant tried to protect her calf. He was rushed to hospital after two colleagues desperately tried to save him, but died around three hours after being struck, just after 11am yesterday. Police have launched an investigation into the incident, which occurred at Cabarceno Natural Park, a zoo near Santander and traditionally one of the main tourist attractions of the region of Cantabria which the northern Spanish port city is the capital of. It has been described as the “first fatal accident” of its kind in the park’s 30-year history. Friends and colleagues are due to pay tribute to Joaquin in a midday ceremony at the park, an international centre of reference in the reproduction and care of African elephants. His bosses confirmed in a statement: “A worker at the Cabarceno Natural Park … [Read more...] about Spanish zookeeper killed by elephant ‘accidentally’ smashing him with her trunk while protecting calf

German exports to UK fell 30pc in January

· March 2, 2021 ·

G erman exports to the UK plunged by almost a third in the first month under post-Brexit trading arrangements, new figures have revealed. The end of the Brexit transition period was blamed by Germany’s official statistics body for a 30pc year-on-year plunge in exports to the UK in January but economists predicted the trade slump will ease. The tumble in German imports at the start of the UK’s life outside the EU was also worsened by many businesses stockpiling in December as Brexit talks went down to the wire. “We expected very weak eurozone exports to the UK for January, in part due to teething problems at the … [Read more...] about German exports to UK fell 30pc in January
