Everyone's favourite physicist Brian Cox is coming back to Plymouth due to "phenomenal demand". Tickets for his show on February 28 at Plymouth Pavilions went on sale to the general public at 10am on October 27, but they've already sold out. Having set two Guinness World record titles with his previous sell-out live UK and Ireland tour, Professor Brian Cox OBE is heading back out on the road with a brand new show for two years time. But Brian was not always lecturing on the stars, as he has a little-known past in 90s dance music behind him. Here's what we know about him... Who is Professor Brian Cox, how old is he and what is his background? Professor Brian Cox is a 50-year-old physicist, who serves as professor of particle physics as the University of Manchester, but is better known for his science-based books and TV shows. Born in Oldham, Yorkshire - to banker parents - young Brian was into hobbies like bus spotting and dancing, before Carl Sagan's book Cosmos got him on to physics. However, he got a D in his Maths A-Level - and his first major pursuit in life was music. He played keyboard with the rock band Dare from 1988 to 1991, and released two albums with … [Read more...] about How old is Professor Brian Cox, who is his wife Gia Milinovich, what band was he in and what TV shows has he presented?

It’s a question scientists have been trying to answer for decades – ever since Belgian astrophysicist and priest Georges Lemaitre first noted in 1927 that our expanding universe could be traced back in time to an originating single point. Now it appears GMB presenter Piers Morgan has waded into this existential debate, after posting his views on Twitter. He wanted to know why atheists – those who do not believe in the existence of God or gods – could not explain why there was nothing before the Big Bang and what this … [Read more...] about Piers Morgan and Brian Cox are intensely debating the Big Bang theory on Twitter
