There are a few things you can say to someone to make them instantly think you're crazy. "I don't use a case on my phone," is one of them. I have been using a case on my phone for the last decade, and I didn't plan on stopping this year. It happened gradually, and then suddenly it was gone altogether. The most surprising thing about not using a case on my iPhone is the realization that I don't actually drop my phone very much—at least so far—and don't need to always keep it in a bubble of sorts. Up until a few months ago, I was using Apple 's iPhone cases, and had settled on its first-party protection over recent years. Its leather cases were really pleasant when they had metal volume buttons. More recently, its silicon cases have become a lot more refined and a nice option, as well. Even if you're not a fan of Apple's phone cases, there are a lot of other good cases to choose from. It wasn't for a lack of choice that I stopped using a case on my phone. While testing a lot of … [Read more...] about I stopped using an iPhone case and maybe you should, too

The best iPhone 13 Pro cases you can buy today
A new iPhone also means it needs a new case that fits precisely. We went hands-on with dozens of different cases designed specifically for the iPhone 13 Pro to make sure the ones we're recommending are solid options. This year, plenty of cases have focused on antimicrobial protection to keep germs from living on your phone case surface. Beyond keeping germs away, Nomad is innovating around adding an NFC (near-field communication) tag to its cases so that you can tap another phone and instantly send your contact information (or other data) to people with minimal effort. Bellroy is continuing to refine its wallet case so that it's practical in all circumstances and will still work with wireless chargers. All in all, there are plenty of choices available whether you're looking for a clear or leather case or one that doubles as a wallet. As always, the prices listed may fluctuate over time. I tried EE’s ‘magic glasses’ that let me watch a VIRTUAL TV before my eyes – but no one else could see it
I DIDN'T think it was possible to pack a 201-inch screen in my pocket - until now. EE has launched a brand new augmented reality headset with a company called Nreal, which allows you to magically project your very own massive virtual TV . Pre-order the Nreal Air glasses from EE at £399 now . No one else can see what you see. After the disappointment of Google Glass , I wasn't sure what to expect but the results are pleasantly surprising, though this is just a brief first impression hands-on. My only concern is I may become even more antisocial now that I can watch, play and do what I like with a pair of normal looking glasses on. I Went to Disney World
Earlier this month, Walt Disney World began reopening, following almost four months of closure due to the pandemic. I flew to Orlando to experience the magic. The week I arrived, Florida had registered the highest single-day case count of any state thus far. In Orlando’s airport, I felt a vague sense that Floridians considered such statistics a source of secret pride, as if they had set a record for fattest alligator or ugliest serial killer or most senior citizens in a golf cart. The airport where I had started my day, in Connecticut, had required masks, and everyone wore them. Here in Florida, some passengers went totally unmasked, but most wore masks in a defiant fashion, either slung under their chin or with their nostrils gaping out over the top, sucking and spewing potentially viral particles with every breath. A friend who lives a couple of hours away in St. Petersburg likens this latter style to “wearing a condom that covers only the shaft.” Disney World is in Florida only … [Read more...] about I Went to Disney World
The Tour Bus That Crashed the Oscars—and Hollywood’s Bubble
If the last-minute twist at the Oscars was seen to echo all the last-minute twists in American culture lately—the Super Bowl, the election—a silly five-minute segment earlier in the night should be noted for what it captured about the country’s ongoing tensions and tastes in iPhone peripherals. Host Jimmy Kimmel’s team arranged for a sightseeing bus of supposedly “real” tourists to walk into the room, expecting a museum exhibit about the Oscars but instead finding themselves in the middle of the actual thing. “Welcome to the Dolby Theater,” Kimmel announced. “This is the home of the Academy Awards, which are, in fact, happening right now.” The greatest Hollywood tour bus trip EVER ... @StarLineTours #Oscars pic.twitter.com/hUsuhPQf0I — Jimmy Kimmel (@jimmykimmel) February 27, 2017 The bit was both amusing and squirmy: a weird microcosm of Hollywood’s relationship with America, America’s relationship with the media, and Jimmy Kimmel’s ability to make everything a … [Read more...] about The Tour Bus That Crashed the Oscars—and Hollywood’s Bubble
I found my future husband inside the METAVERSE – and we first met as virtual avatars
MOVE over Tinder - love is in the virtual air of the metaverse, where a couple first hooked up as avatars. Now, Brits Eilir Roberts, 32 and Marc Charlton, 36, are engaged with plans to tie the knot next year. The virtual romance started when Roberts - an intensive care doctor in the real world - bought an Oculus headset as an escapism from life's stresses. Then one day a "dark haired, bearded avatar with a pink hoodie" caught his eye. "I could hear him chatting with other avatars, and was so impressed by his confidence and presence,” he told the NY Post . "It took me a few days to build up the courage to actually speak to him; when I finally did there was an instant connection."
