PRINCE Philip has today been transferred to a different hospital while he battles an infection and pre-existing heart condition. The Duke of Edinburgh , 99, was taken to the King Edward VII hospital almost two weeks ago as a "precautionary measure". Buckingham Palace said today he has now been moved to London's St Bartholomew's hospital until at least the end of the week. The Duke will undergo testing for the heart condition at the hospital, which is one of the country’s leading specialist cardiac centres. The Palace said: "The Duke of Edinburgh was today transferred from King Edward VII’s Hospital to St Bartholomew’s Hospital where doctors will continue to treat him for an infection, as well as undertake testing and observation for a pre-existing heart condition. Prince Philip has been transferred to another hospital after 14 days fighting an infection - so he can have scans on a pre-existing heart condition. The Duke of Edinburgh, 99, was admitted to King Edward VII's Hospital in London on Tuesday, February 16 as a precautionary measure after feeling unwell - marking his longest ever stay in hospital. The Duke of Edinburgh, 99, was admitted to King Edward VII's Hospital in London on Tuesday, February 16 as a precautionary measure after feeling unwell. The mood at Windsor Castle ­darkened ­today after Prince Philip was admitted for heart tests as he continued to battle a raging infection, sources said last night. And fears grew for the 99-year-old with medical experts warning he could be kept in for up to six weeks while he is treated for an underlying condition.
