Jarrett Bell USA TODAY Published 11:38 PM EST Nov 11, 2018 PHILADELPHIA – Don’t count out the Dallas Cowboys just yet. Riding the back of Ezekiel Elliott and a clutch defense, the Cowboys pulled off a shocker and stunned the Philadelphia Eagles 27-20 in a thriller on Sunday night at Lincoln Financial Field. Elliott rushed for 151 yards, caught six passes for 36 yards and scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns, including a 1-yard plunge with 3:19 remaining that held up as the game-winner. Dallas’ defense sealed the deal by stopping two last-gasp Eagles drives in the final three minutes. It was a resilient performance that may have saved the season for Dallas (4-5) and at least temporarily quieted the noise about the job status of coach Jason Garrett. On the flip side, the result turns up the heat on the defending Super Bowl champions (4-5), who have yet to win consecutive games this season – and dropped their third consecutive home game. Jimmy Butler has his wish: He's out of Minnesota. And just like that, Philadelphia has a new Big Three - one that could make serious noise in the Eastern Conference. A person with knowledge of the situation said Saturday that Butler is being traded to the 76ers in a package that will send Dario Saric and Robert Covington to the Timberwolves. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the trade had not yet been announced by either team and was still pending NBA approval, which is not expected until Monday. Justin Patton will also be sent to Philadelphia, and Jerryd Bayless and a 2022 second-round pick are also going to Minnesota, the person said. ESPN, citing league sources, also reported the deal. The Athletic first reported the agreement. Philadelphia's "Process" led it to the second round of the playoffs last season behind two of the game's youngest, brightest stars in big man Joel Embiid and point guard Ben Simmons. Butler, an elite wing … [Read more...] about Jimmy Butler traded to Philadelphia 76ers from Minnesota Timberwolves, sources say
Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz USA TODAY Published 7:33 AM EST Nov 10, 2018 As he looks to find his place within the Philadelphia Eagles' offense, Golden Tate has the benefit of making his debut against a team he knows how to burn. Playing in his first game with Philadelphia since he was traded to the defending champions last Tuesday, Tate will be squaring off against the same Dallas Cowboys team against which he recorded eight catches for 134 yards and two touchdowns in October as a member of the Detroit Lions. In his second of what will be three turns against the Cowboys this year, Tate might hold the key to how both Sunday's NFC East tilt and the rest of the divisional race will unfold. Adding another weapon for the second half of the season was a crucial move for an Eagles offense that has been uneven. Running back Darren Sproles was expected to make his return this week, but he aggravated a hamstring injury and has already been ruled out. Tate, however, can step in and turn … [Read more...] about Philadelphia Eagles: Will Golden Tate burn Dallas Cowboys yet again?

PHILADELPHIA – Philadelphia-area Ukrainians are quite aware of the necessity of supporting political candidates – not only in terms of volunteering in their campaigns but also in organizing fund-raisers to benefit those campaigns. The mid-term elections for the U.S. Congress have sparked an increased flurry of fund-raisers in the Ukrainian community, where the supporters of both the Democratic and the Republican parties can cross the aisle to support a candidate who they feel best deserves their financial support mainly because of their actions on behalf of Ukraine. Running for Congress in these mid-term elections are Congressman Brendan Boyle, a Democrat, and Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick, a Republican. Due to gerrymandering and the actions of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, new districts have been created. Rep. Boyle is running in a new district that is in the city of Philadelphia, and Rep.
