Zounds! The BBC’s new docu-drama series, Armada, opened last night with visual reenactments of all the hoary tropes of Elizabethan storytelling: a beleaguered isle, led by a vacillating queen; plucky English sailors knocking together a flotilla from the few planks of driftwood and some Vaseline; wordless, faceless Spaniards, bearing down with dark crucifixes upon their captives as instruments of torture. AS the spare, not the heir, Prince Harry always played the royal rascal. Born on 15 September 1984, the then third in line to the throne knew he would probably never be King. So I can do what I want!” And he made the most of it.Harry’s cheeky sense of humour and happy-go-lucky nature made him instantly lovable. Trying to make life “normal”, Diana took her boys to theme parks, fast-food joints and trips to the cinema. As they got older, visits to Aids clinics, … [Read more...] about The childhood stories of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and their family trees
THE Duchess of Sussex is supporting a new charity cookbook as her first solo endeavour. Meghan Markle has written the foreword to Together: Our Community Cookbook, sharing recipes from women who were brought together in the aftermath of the Grenfell fire. What is the cookbook? The book shares dozens of recipes from across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and the Eastern Mediterranean. They are the personal recipes from a group of women who came together following the tower block fire in West London on June 14 last year, which claimed at least 72 lives and left hundreds homeless. With their homes destroyed and some staying in hotels with no cooking facilities, they gathered in the communal kitchen at the Al Manaar Muslim Cultural Heritage Centre in West London. There they cooked and prepared fresh food for their families and neighbours, and began to heal as a community. The Royal Foundation’s website said: “Word spread and more women joined in – this was the start … [Read more...] about When and where will Meghan Markle’s charity cookbook for Grenfell ‘Together: Our Community Cookbook’ be released?
