Kim Kardashian stuns in bikini cover shoot for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit debut as she pens emotional letter to younger self
Kim Kardashian is blown away after landing her first ever Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover. The 41-year-old star paid tribute to the iconic magazine but insisted she always assume the honour of fronting the Swimsuit edition was reserved for ‘young’ models and runway stars. ‘I vividly remember Tyra Banks on the cover and women with curves, I remember thinking that was just so cool. But I still thought you had to be a professional model and a runway model,’ she told the publication . ‘It was always really young girls. I don’t want to date myself or sound old. But in my 40s? That’s crazy! I never thought in a million years that I would be shooting one myself.’ For the 2022 issue launch, Kim joins singer Ciara, rising model Yumi Nu and model and activist Maye Musk as the four cover stars. In a statement, MJ Day – SI Swimsuit’s editor in chief – said: ‘The journey we’ve been on — to break out of the mold the world put us in — may sound familiar. Parents get grim hepatitis warning after 12 children die in mysterious outbreak
Terrified parents have been told to keep an eye out for signs of deadly hepatitis in their children after a dozen were confirmed dead in an unexplained outbreak. Hundreds of kids have now been infected as the liver disease continues to strike children across the world — with doctors still baffled as to what might be behind the uptick in cases. Officials in Europe report that 11 children have sadly passed away from hepatitis, with another casualty recorded in Ireland last week. The World Health Organisation (WHO) meanwhile revealed infections had been reported in 20 countries, with 70 potential cases under investigation in a further 13 territories. Experts from the UK Health Security Agency say that infections have increased since children began mixing again after pandemic restrictions were lifted, commenting: "Almost all of the cases have been seen in children under 10, with most cases aged between three and five years. "Most of the children affected were previously … [Read more...] about Parents get grim hepatitis warning after 12 children die in mysterious outbreak
Blenheim mum who took children out of school due to bullying: ‘The system is broken’
Today marks the start of Bullying-Free NZ Week 2022. Reporter Morgane Solignac talks to *Olivia about the abuse her children experienced in Blenheim. “We didn’t ever make the decision to homeschool our child, we made the decision to not send him back to school until it was safe,” Olivia said. The mum of two said she wished she’d done it earlier, as her two children were verbally and physically assaulted for years in one of Blenheim’s primary schools. “Within the first week of school he was physically assaulted, kicked in the head. He had a black eye more than once,” she said of her youngest child. David Attenborough helped solve grisly murder involving a boiled up skull
National treasure Sir David Attenborough once helped to solve a murder after making a gruesome discovery - a woman's skull in his back garden. The broadcasting icon was instrumental in helping to solve a murder known as 'the Barnes mystery'. Workmen discovered the skull as they carried out work in the back garden of his Richmond, Surrey, home. Police were called and forensic tests carried out. Professor Gordon Cook, of Edinburgh University, was able to carbon-date the skull despite the murderer having boiled it after cutting up the victim. And back in 2011 a coroner ruled that the skull was that of Julia Thomas, a wealthy widow killed by her maid in 1879. The coroner delivered a verdict of unlawful killing. The coroner concluded that the victim died from asphyxiation and a head injury. Mrs Thomas was believed to have been in her 50s when she was killed. Mrs Thomas had lived in a rented cottage near Attenborough's property when she employed Webster, who had … [Read more...] about David Attenborough helped solve grisly murder involving a boiled up skull

Funding for music teaching will triple from £1.5m to £4.5m per annum, for the next three years. Education Minister Jeremy Miles said the new National Music Service would ensure music was accessible to all children in Wales. Primary school pupils will also get half a term's tuition by a musician. The Welsh government has said children from low-income families and those with additional learning needs will be given priority. Family fight against paedophile dad’s plan to be buried next to his son
The family of a teenager who died suddenly at the age of 18 have vowed to stop him sharing a gravesite with his elderly father who was recently convicted of a child sex offence. Stephen Lee Wilcock, from Blackburn, Lancashire, suffered complications from an unknown heart defect and collapsed at home in September 1998. He had moved in with his dad, Kevin Harrison, two years earlier following his parents’ separation. His mum Linda was struggling financially and unable to contribute to the funeral, which his dad offered to pay for in full. Harrison, now 70, bought the deed for Stephen’s plot and another right next to him, intending to be buried there when he dies, the family say. After being diagnosed with terminal lung cancer in 2017, Linda asked him to give her the plot so she could be buried in it but he refused, instead offering to have her cremated ashes placed next to Stephen’s. Linda turned down the compromise, citing her Catholic faith and fears that she … [Read more...] about Family fight against paedophile dad’s plan to be buried next to his son
Letters: The consequences of sidelining clinicians in the running of the NHS
SIR – Denis Wilkins (Letters, May 12) rightly identifies the Griffiths report of 1983 as the start of a new order within the running of the NHS. Non-medical management now measured success in terms of numbers and percentages, rather than common sense. One index of efficiency was considered to be bed occupancy of as close to 100 per cent as possible. The way to achieve this was to get rid of what were seen as redundant beds. Well, Covid demonstrated what a good idea that was. Some years ago, I was clinical director of an ear, nose and throat department, and was asked to explain how it was that the ratio of operations performed to outpatient consultations was lower than in other surgical specialities. I said it was in the nature of ENT practice that many patients could be treated conservatively. This explanation did not satisfy management, and I was asked if there was any way the number of operations could be increased. When I then asked if they would like me to start performing … [Read more...] about Letters: The consequences of sidelining clinicians in the running of the NHS
Wayne Rooney’s behaviour has tested Coleen to the limit, now he’s repaying the debt in court
MUCH has been written about how the only winners in the Wagatha Christie saga are the lawyers. But no. Trundling up on the rails is one Wayne Rooney . A man who, after 19 years of patchy form, is finally stepping, nay galloping, up to the front. While Rebekah Vardy’s husband, Jamie , is conspicuous by his absence, day after day former racehorse owner Wayne has been glued to Coleen’s side. To paraphrase Martine McCutcheon, this is his perfect moment. Dutifully lugging in his wife’s wheelbarrow-sized Fendi bags — she has been sporting a collection of decidedly more delicate Chanel ones — Wayne has been little short of stoical at London’s High Court.
