Paying a tribute

A ZOOKEEPER has been killed by an elephant in Spain after the animal hit him with its trunk. Joaquin Gutierrez Arnaiz, 44, smashed his head on the iron bars of the enclosure after the elephant tried to protect her calf. He was rushed to hospital after two colleagues desperately tried to save him, but died around three hours after being struck, just after 11am yesterday. Police have launched an investigation into the incident, which occurred at Cabarceno Natural Park, a zoo near Santander and traditionally one of the main tourist attractions of the region of Cantabria which the northern Spanish port city is the capital of. It has been described as the “first fatal accident” of its kind in the park’s 30-year history. Friends and colleagues are due to pay tribute to Joaquin in a midday ceremony at the park, an international centre of reference in the reproduction and care of African elephants. Buckingham Palace tonight launched a probe into allegations of bullying by Meghan Markle in the latest explosive twist in the Megxit saga. In an unprecedented move the Palace released a statement saying "we are very concerned" at claims the Duchess bullied staff . The bombshell statement said: "We are clearly very concerned about allegations in The Times following claims made by former staff of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex . Accordingly our HR team will look into the circumstances outlined in the article. "Members of staff involved at the time, including those who have left the Household, will be invited to participate to see if lessons can be learned. PRINCE Harry and Meghan Markle are embroiled in a legal dispute with a small Filipino business owner over his Archewell deodorant name, which he says he's willing to “fight to the death” for, The Sun can report. The royals, who set up their foundation -- named after their young son Archie -- after relocating to LA from Britain last year, are disputing the use of the term 'Archewell Harvatera' with a man named Victor Martin Soriano. Cobblestone Lane LLC, which represents Harry and Meghan and is based in Beverly Hills, is pursuing legal action over the name of his brand of natural deodorants, first reported by World Trademark Review . Soriano filed in July 2020 in the Philippines, months after the royals launched their foundation in April, and has since shared his company's official theme song and choreography online.
