Final plans to redraw the boundaries of parliamentary constituencies in Sheffield have been published. The Boundary Commission for England has issued its last recommendations for a shake-up designed to ensure population sizes represented by the city's MPs are roughly equal – part of a national review ordered in 2011 that began in earnest two years ago.In Sheffield, there would be five constituencies: Sheffield Central, Hallam, South, South East and North & Ecclesfield. Penistone & Stocksbridge – held by Angela Smith today – would be split, with the new areas of Barnsley West & Stocksbridge and Colne Valley & Penistone created.Neighbourhoods will also find themselves in new districts. Sunderland’s political map could change under new proposals. The Boundary Commission for England (BCE) has carried out a review of all Parliamentary constituencies and has made its final proposals to the Government. If approved by Parliament, the proposals - which would see the number of North East seats reduced by four to 25 - include:* The creation of a new Houghton and Seaham constituency that would take in wards currently represented by both Bridget Phillipson, in Houghton and Sunderland South, and her Labour colleague Grahame Morris in Easington. * A new City of Durham and Easington constituency which would include Horden, Murton, Peterlee and Easington.* Sunderland Central, currently held by Labour’s Julie Elliott, remaining unchanged* The Sandhill ward joining the Washington and Sunderland West constituency, currently served by Labour’s Sharon Hodgson.The plans, however, have not gone down well with political figures. Boris Johnson 's Tory-stronghold constituency could be re-drawn in a huge proposed shake-up of parliamentary boundaries. The Boundary Commission for England has published its final recommendations for new parliamentary boundaries. Revised parliamentary maps have been set out by the UK's four boundary commissions that would cut the number of MPs by 50. Conservative MP Boris Johnson faces a challenge to his 5,034 majority in Uxbridge & Ruislip South, with the seat losing Tory-leaning Yiewsley and gaining Labour-leaning Northolt . Under the plans, based on rule changes introduced by the former coalition government in 2011, the number of seats will be reduced to 600. The final recommendations from the boundary commissions are largely unchanged from a revised set out proposals set out last year.
