A top blogger from Teesside has starred in a travel video promoting Paris. Instagrammer Sophie Spaldin, 25, was asked to shoot the minute-and-a-half long promotional video for Newcastle Airport as part of its 'That's why I fly from Newcastle' winter campaign. It's the first time the airport has worked with a 'social media influencer'. Shot by NE Times, the film starts with travel blogger Sophie looking fed-up in the office before opening the new NCL Airport app and booking her break in Paris. She is then shown starting her journey in style at the airport - even stopping for a glass of fizz in its luxury Cabin Bar. On arrival in Paris, she visits the iconic Eiffel Tower and takes in the culture at the Centre Pompidou stopping at a picturesque spot by the River Seine to write about her experience. It's the first in a series of short films that will be released by the airport over winter. Sophie, who has more than 2,000 followers on Instagram and also works as an accounts manager, said: … [Read more...] about Teesside travel blogger Sophie stars in Paris promotional video
Paris why visit
Heading back to work on a Monday is always difficult, but four French staffers found themselves unusually stressed over a flag ahead of the Turkish Finance Minister’s visit. Ultimately, a coat hanger saved the day. Footage from Paris shows the moment that government staffers were preparing for Berat Albayrak’s visit on Monday, ahead of his meeting with French Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire. The French and EU flags can be seen on the right-hand side of the screen, while the Turkish flag is on the left. But the Turkish flag apparently didn’t want to cooperate – and it took not one, not two, not three, but four people to fix it. Perhaps the old joke about “how many people does it take to change a lightbulb” can now be replaced with “how many people does it take to set up a flag.” It’s clear in the video that time was an issue, with Albayrak expected to walk in at any moment. A woman can be seen delivering a coat hanger to two men … [Read more...] about Panic in Paris! Why are French govt staffers running around the Turkish flag in a tizzy? (VIDEO)

Good way to remember your ‘les’ and ‘las’. If only it were true. Theresa May has not — yet — solved Brexit. Angela Merkel has not resolved the migrant crisis. Anne Hidalgo, the city’s mayor, has not flushed out its rats. If she fails at re-election, it will be on pest control and tent cities. A sign on the Square du Temple gates asks picnickers to leave no croissant crumbs behind. It attracts the rats. Below, in black marker: ‘Et les Algériens?’ Not nice. But tempers run high in hot summers. The morning after the World Cup final an email went around the embassy. Regrettably, no newspapers would be delivered that day. The nearest kiosk had been burnt down the … [Read more...] about The view from Paris: ‘Why are Brexiteers so stupid?’

Le vice anglais was meant to be a dying art — a vestige of a time when men were more repressed, but it’s recently become clear that British men enjoy a thrashing just as much as they ever did. In the past few weeks a London barrister, Robert Jones, has claimed he was unfairly dismissed after a consensual spanking session with a junior worker, while up north a ‘dungeon master’ called Shaun O’Driscoll, who has thrashed diplomats and a duke, gave evidence at Bolton Crown Court. Then there’s the big one: the claims by the erotic actress Stormy Daniels that she spanked Donald Trump with a rolled-up copy of Time magazine that had his face on the cover. Why do powerful men like to be spanked? It is a question I have often asked myself during the many years that I have spent researching … [Read more...] about Why do powerful men love to be spanked?
0 Have your say Donald Trump has been warned he faces mass protest if he comes to Scotland this summer, following reports that the US President could visit Balmoral in the coming months. A visit by the controversial American leader has been on the cards since his election, with the UK Government quickly extending an invitation for a state visit. However, fears over the reception Mr Trump would receive have see the plans put off indefinitely, and a visit in February to inaugurate a new US Embassy building in London were also cancelled.Reports now suggest a visit by Mr Trump is “pencilled in” for July, including a possible meeting with the Queen at Balmoral.Scottish Labour leader Richard Leonard said his party would help coordinate protests and called on the UK Government not to roll out the red carpet for Mr Trump.“There is a lot of anger at the prospect of Donald Trump coming to Scotland and a strong desire to show he is not welcome here,” he … [Read more...] about Donald Trump warned of mass protests for Scotland summer visit
