A dating coach has revealed the 12 ways you can flirt in a face mask - and confirms it is all in the eyes. There are a multitude of expressions which can be made with the eyes - including the baby doll look, side glance and wink. Flirt expert Jean Smith reveals playing with your hair and using hand gestures are great ways of showing someone you are keen while socially distancing. Holding eye contact for more than three seconds, looking at someone three times to ascertain interest and raising the eyebrows are others tips shared. Are you a face mask flirt? Have your say in the comments section And Smith claims you should continue smiling at a love interest, because a big grin can result in a 'Mona Lisa smile' in the eyes. New face mask, testing and hygiene rules for secondary schools revealed

· March 6, 2021 ·

Parents all over the country are breathing a sigh of relief as their children prepare to go back to school after a difficult few months. The classroom is the best place for children to be, as face-to-face learning gives them a secure routine and normality, and helps with their socialisation, motivation and mental wellbeing. Schools and colleges are now fully reopening, welcoming back all pupils, and their health and wellbeing are a priority. Schools are well prepared, with protective measures in place, including bubbles, increased hygiene, staggered breaks and ventilation. Staff and pupils in secondary schools and colleges are also being advised to wear face coverings where social distancing cannot be maintained. Schools have been open to vulnerable pupils and children of key workers during lockdown; staff have worked hard to make … [Read more...] about New face mask, testing and hygiene rules for secondary schools revealed

Pondering love and loss amid COVID at the Berlinale

· January 5, 2021 ·

The opening scenes of "Jole Dobe Na" — Bengali for "Those Who Do Not Drown" —  are apocalyptic. The camera moves slowly, visually documenting parts of an abandoned building, its doors and walls stripped of paint, until it reaches a large window that overlooks the courtyard. A man's voice says, "What if I told you, all this never happened. We are fine and we will be fine. [That] The whole catastrophe was a dream after all? They promised, science could do everything, cure the sick, bring Lazarus back to life…" Having lived most of the last year under COVID-induced lockdowns, these words seem to reflect our inability to grasp the "new normal" consisting of social distancing and isolation, and our collective vulnerability as humans. But "Jole" is not about the pandemic. Its actors managed to finish filming the movie shortly before the lockdown began and COVID-19 did not really influence the movie's storyline. But in the current global context, the story raises a couple of important … [Read more...] about Pondering love and loss amid COVID at the Berlinale

Farmer’s miracle escape after being ‘swallowed head first’ by enormous 60ft sinkhole

· March 5, 2021 ·

A farmer had a miracle escape when he was "swallowed" by a 60ft sinkhole as he rode a quad bike across his land. The ground opened up in a field at Bowesfield Farm in Stank, south Cumbria. It is feared the farmer, who has not been named, went head first into the 60ft (18m) hole before being rescued and airlifted to hospital. Ian Westall of Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: "The ground just fell away with the weight of the bike. "He was swallowed up into the sinkhole." He added: "We peered down and could see the farmer sitting up. "We could just make out the outline of his bike under a mound of earth. "I'm sure he was in deep shock." The farmer suffered chest injuries in the fall, which happened around midday on Thursday (March 4). The opening was about 8ft (2m) wide at the top but widened below "like a wine carafe", which posed additional risk to rescuers, Mr Westall added. "You've got a lip at the top which went down into a narrow throat, and then there was a … [Read more...] about Farmer’s miracle escape after being ‘swallowed head first’ by enormous 60ft sinkhole
