Turkey says Kurdish militants may be behind football stadium bombing that killed 38
Turkey said on Sunday that Kurdish militants may be responsible for the two bombs that killed 38 people and wounded 155 in what looked to be a coordinated attack on police outside a soccer stadium in Istanbul after a match between two top teams. The blasts on Saturday night - a car bomb outside the Vodafone Arena, home to Istanbul's Besiktas soccer team, followed by a suicide bomb attack in an adjacent park less than a minute later - shook a nation still trying to recover from a series of deadly bombings this year in cities including Istanbul and the capital Ankara. There was no claim of responsibility, but Numan Kurtulmus, deputy prime minister, said early indications pointed to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), which has carried out a three-decade insurgency, mainly in Turkey's largely Kurdish south-east. Ten people have been detained so far, he said. "The arrows point at the PKK," Mr Kurtulmus told CNN Turk in an interview. "There will be an announcement once … [Read more...] about Turkey says Kurdish militants may be behind football stadium bombing that killed 38

Dad kills daughter, 4, wife and mother-in-law in murder-suicide after previously trying to drown girl amid divorce
A DAD killed his wife, mother-in-law and his four-year-old daughter before turning the gun on himself, reports claim. The four bodies were discovered in an apartment in Houston, Texas in the early hours of Thursday morning after the suspected gunman failed to appear for work. In a news conference, Sherriff Ed Gonzalez confirmed that the former couple were “going through the divorce proceedings” at the time of the alleged incident. According to KPRC, the husband was connected to a series of domestic abuse allegations including slashing his ex-wife's tyres and trying to drown his young daughter. “Very tragic situation, especially if it involves a 4-year-old,” Gonzalez said. “It just breaks your heart.” Preliminary information suggests that the wife and daughter were heading out to work and school when they encountered their husband, who began firing a series of shots.
