A foster mother who killed a baby she was hoping to adopt has been jailed for 18 years. Laura Castle, 38, was found guilty of murdering 13-month-old Leiland-James Corkill after a court heard she battered the child to death. The toddler had been placed in the care of Castle and her husband, Scott, 35, in August 2020. But five months later, on January 6, 2021, paramedics found Leiland-James unresponsive and floppy at the couple’s home in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria. He died the following day after doctors found his heart wasn’t beating and he had a head injury, which Castle claimed was from him falling off a sofa. However, it emerged the foster mum had searched online for what might cause a bleed on the brain while he lay in hospital. Her story began to unravel when a post-mortem confirmed the toddler had suffered a traumatic head injury, which wasn’t an accident. A reader is frustrated by the high difficulty of games like Cuphead and Elden Ring and refuses to spend his time getting good. I love how Cuphead looks. As far as I’m concerned, it’s one of the most amazing games ever in terms of visuals and even more so because apparently the developer taught themselves how to do the weird old timey animation from scratch. That’s crazy and explains why the game and the DLC has taken so long to come out. There is a problem though: I can’t play the game. I literally cannot get anywhere with it, and it really frustrates me. I bought Cuphead when it first came out several years ago and while I’d read about the high difficultly that can mean just about anything in some reviews. Difficulty is much like comedy, I find, in that it’s very subjective and just saying a game is ‘hard’ or ‘easy’ doesn’t really mean much. Or at least not usually.
