GEMMA Collins celebrated turning 40 today by vowing to become a "humanitarian" just like Sir David Attenborough. Reality star Gemma has detailed how she wants to take her responsibilities more seriously after discovering the young age demographic of her podcast. The GC explained that she recently found out her BBC podcast, The Gemma Collins Podcast, is most listened by 16 to 28-year-olds. It's propelled her to want to follow in the footsteps of broadcasting legend and natural historian David, 94. She told the Mirror: "If these youngsters are looking at me, I need to do the right thing by them and spread the right word and the right message." German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas has pledged another €100 million in humanitarian aid for the Lake Chad basin, to be paid out until 2020. A further €40 million are to be invested in security and development projects in the region. Germany pledged the same amount at last year's conference in Oslo. Maas said that the Lake Chad countries have had some success in pushing back Boko Haram terrorists, who have killed more than 30,000 people, according to the German Foreign Ministry. Lake Chad has shrunk to around one-tenth of its former size in roughly half a century He warned, however, that there are signs that the terror group was regaining ground. "Recently, we've again had numerous attacks on security forces, street markets, mosques and churches," he said in Berlin. Washington formally determined Tuesday that Myanmar's military carried out a coup, legally requiring an end to U.S. assistance to the government. 'After a careful review of the facts and circumstances, we've assessed that Aung San Suu Kyi, the leader of Burma's ruling party, and Win Myint, the duly elected head of government, were deposed in a military coup,' a State Department official said, using Myanmar's former name. GEMMA Collins didn't let lockdown spoil her 40th birthday yesterday. The self-confessed diva's special day was filled with lavish designer gifts, pink balloons, an impressive cake and touching tributes from pals on Instagram. The reality star had a number of special messages sent her way. The likes of fellow Towie stars Vas Morgan, Jess Wright and Chloe Simms all paid tribute to the GC with a selection of throwback snaps and hilarious videos.
