Kyiv's mayor Vitali Klitschko greeted me with a strong handshake and a big smile but his message to international partners was stern. The big question on many people's lips right now is how is this war going to end? The eastern Donbas is now home to the biggest battle in Europe for generations. With Luhansk falling to Russian control in recent days, there's a sense of scepticism over Ukraine 's defiant calls that it will somehow claw back this lost ground in the region. Kremlin could 'force businesses to supply army' - Ukraine live updates Advertisement I asked Mr Klitschko if there was any pressure from international partners to do a deal with Russia - to give Moscow the industrialised Donbas in exchange for peace in Ukraine? "I am sometimes upset if I listen to these messages from our partners. It's the same message that tells the Russian Federation, "okay, we're ready to find a compromise, let's find a solution". HIMAR system: The new US weapon being used by Ukraine against Russian targets
Increasing number of pictures are appearing on Ukrainian social media showing a US-made rocket launcher being used against Russian targets. At the start of June, the US Department of Defence said it would be sending four HIMAR systems to Ukraine to help the country defend itself from attack. It said Ukrainian soldiers would be trained on it first, which would take about three weeks. In the last few days, there have been a number of social media posts from Ukrainian military sources that have showed the HIMARS in action in the country, reportedly targeting forces from Russia . One shows vehicles travelling along a road purportedly in southern-eastern Zaporizhzhia region and then the system in use, launching a volley of missiles into a twilit night, was put out by the official account of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Boris Johnson informed of investigation into Chris Pincher in 2019, but Downing Street says he forgot
Boris Johnson was told about an investigation into Chris Pincher's inappropriate behaviour in 2019, despite days of Number 10 saying the prime minister was unaware of specific allegations against his former deputy chief whip. Mr Pincher resigned his post last week after he was accused of groping two men in a private members club, but it emerged on Monday he had already been investigated for his conduct when working as a foreign office minister three years ago. In an explosive letter to parliament's standard's commissioner published on Tuesday, former Foreign Office permanent secretary Lord McDonald accused Downing Street of making "inaccurate claims", saying they "keep changing their story and are still not telling the truth". Speaking to reporters today, a No 10 spokesman confirmed Mr Johnson was briefed on the complaint in late 2019, but said the PM stood by appointing Mr Pincher again in February 2022 as, "at the time when he offered the job, he was not aware of any … [Read more...] about Boris Johnson informed of investigation into Chris Pincher in 2019, but Downing Street says he forgot
How old do you have to be to have Snapchat? Why is the restriction in place?
You may not have realised, but there is actually a minimum age to use Snapchat. The photo and video messaging app requires its users to be a minimum of 13 years old to use their app. The regulation is in compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) which tries to protect children from the deregulated space of the internet where they are not protected from things that want to hurt and take advantage of them. However, they don’t make it very hard to fool, do they? When you open the Snapchat app for the first time and haven’t created an account or username yet, you have to go through the whole process. It is at this juncture that Snapchat asks you for your date of birth. The child setting up the account can choose to be honest and insert their correct birth year, and if they are under 13 the app then redirects the child to SnapKidz. SnapKidz is an app without all the bells and whistles of Snapchat, and exists mainly as a camera app as the … [Read more...] about How old do you have to be to have Snapchat?
