From medieval walls to the clear Adriatic sea — relax in Croatia’s stunning walled city of Dubrovnik

· February 28, 2021 ·

DUBROVNIK’S medieval city walls – check. Clear waters of the Adriatic Sea – check. Shiny marble streets – check. The only thing missing was the people. In that heady period last summer in between lockdowns, when European borders had briefly opened, I was back in Croatia’s most visited city — and one of its most captivating. Every time I come to Dubrovnik, I cannot resist a walk along its medieval city walls. Before the heat of the day became too much, I took my time wandering along the … [Read more...] about From medieval walls to the clear Adriatic sea — relax in Croatia’s stunning walled city of Dubrovnik

· February 28, 2021 ·

Family homes have been damaged after a WW2 bomb was detonated with pictures showing doors knocked off their hinges and windows blown out. A resident of a house in Exeter, who wished to remain anonymous, said the explosion - despite being controlled - still did some damage to the house. The bomb was detonated at a site right next to the home. Doors had been knocked off their hinges, mud thrown all over decking, door frames badly damaged, and windows blown out by the vacuum such an explosion creates, reports Devon Live . The resident said: "I was expecting more, it is superficial. "We weren't the worst hit, the others right next to the area suffered the most. "But, still, it's not nice to come home and see your house broken like this." Were you affected by the bomb?
