The SNP has called for TV licence decisions to be made independently of government, as it pledged to fight for free licences for over-75s.The party argues that powers over licence fees should be removed from the UK government to avoid political "game-playing".The BBC announced in June that free licences for over-75s would go, affecting up to 3.7m households. The change is scheduled to come into effect next year. THE Home Secretary gave an exclusive interview to the Sun on Sunday where she revealed her fears over Jeremy Corbyn becoming Prime Minister. Priti Patel said the Labour leader would be a "chilling" risk to national security if was in No 10. A Labour government would "certainly not" allow a Scottish independence vote until after the next Holyrood election in 2021, the party's leader has said. Labour has agreed its "transformative" manifesto to take into the 2019 general election . And by all accounts, it's even more radical than in 2017. The document is expected to promise nationalised mail, rail, water, energy and broadband, free NHS prescriptions and six years' free adult education in England. It's expected to pledge a £10 minimum wage for all over-16s, an ambition to reach a 32-hour working week over a decade and the end of Universal Credit . But the full document will only be published at the launch on Thursday.
