ARSENAL'S clash with Manchester City will not be played live on Chinese TV after Mesut Ozil's comments. The club distanced themselves from the German's social media blast about China's persecution of the Uighur population. ARSENAL legend Emmanuel Petit has urged the club to move quickly in case Carlo Ancelotti joins rivals Everton. The Gunners legend, 49, believed former team-mate Patrick Vieira was the right man for the job until the ex-Napoli boss became available. And now he wants Emirates chiefs to go all out to secure the 60-year-old Italian, who has held talks with the Toffees in London, as Unai Emery's replacement. According to Capote's biographer and friend Gerald Clarke, on whose book this film is based, Hoffman was more like Capote on screen than Capote himself. "Through the alchemy a very few gifted actors possess, he has done more than impersonate Truman," he said. "For the length of the movie, he has resurrected him." Hoffman's exquisite Capote placed him in the tiny, select club of actors who have played extremely familiar historical figures so well that audiences may forget they're not … [Read more...] about Capote adds more half-truths to the murky story behind In Cold Blood
In the end, fears of a Corbyn government and disdain for Jo Swinson’s election campaign combined to defeat tactical voting. Over the past four weeks, the Observer has reported on constituency polls designed to assist voters wanting to oppose the Conservatives and stop Brexit. Last Sunday, we recommended candidates in 50 seats. Our results were not great. Non-Conservatives won only 13 of these seats; of these, nine were SNP gains in Scotland. In England, our preferred candidates triumphed in only four seats: Putney and Portsmouth South (Labour) and Richmond Park and St Albans (Liberal Democrat). Why so few successes? It was not the fault of Deltapoll’s data. Almost everywhere, they identified the correct challenger. Most dramatically, they showed rightly that the Liberal Democrats were snapping at Dominic Raab’s heels, despite the foreign secretary’s apparently impregnable 23,000 majority. In a number of our 50 seats, the candidate we showed running third saw … [Read more...] about Tactical voting was set to be Remainers’ saviour, so what went wrong?
