The meeting, held over Monday and Tuesday in Dalian, is the second between the two men in recent weeks following Mr Kim’s visit to Beijing in March, his first since taking power six years ago. China is North Korea’s only major ally, although trade between them has plummeted in recent months as Beijing enforces United Nations economic sanctions in response to the North’s nuclear and ballistic missile tests. The meeting between the two leaders comes as Mr Kim prepares to hold a historic summit with US president Donald Trump. China has been eager to assert its importance in the process of lowering tensions on the Korean Peninsula. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un says Pyongyang has suspended its nuclear and long-range missile tests, and will shut down its atomic test site. North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and his wife, Ri Sol Ju, attended a rare performance by South Korean singers on Sunday, in the latest of a series of diplomatic breakthroughs in an ongoing thaw between the two countries. The evening concert at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre, the first visit by South Korean artists to the North Korean capital in over a decade, has been touted as another gesture of reconciliation before a scheduled summit between the leaders of the divided Korean Peninsula on April 27. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has agreed to hold a landmark summit with South Korea's president and impose a moratorium on nuclear and missile tests if his country holds talks with the US, a senior Seoul official said. Chung Eui-yong, South Korea's presidential national security director, said the two Koreas agreed to hold their third-ever summit at a tense border village in late April. He also said the leaders will establish a "hotline" communication channel to lower military tensions, and would speak together before the planned summit. Mr Chung led a 10-member South Korean delegation that met Mr Kim during a two-day visit to Pyongyang, North Korea's capital. They returned on Tuesday. North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's sister, Kim Yo-jong, is rumoured to be pregnant with her second child. The news surfaces as she wrapped up her visit to South Korea for the Winter Olympics ceremonies. There is no official word, and the South Korean government remains tight-lipped. Kim Yo-jong told South Korean officials about the pregnancy, local reports say, citing unnamed sources. "There is nothing that we've known of. That's the South Korean government's stance," said a spokesman for the South Korean unification ministry when asked about the reports. Speculation about the pregnancy emerged when Kim Yo-jong was reportedly spotted with a protruding belly covered by her coat in South Korea during the Olympic ceremonies. She also reportedly experienced some sort of discomfort during the trip.
