Travelling mistakes: What I learned trying to book cheap flights abroad
Simran Kaur is co-founder of Girls that Invest, which offers commentary on personal investment aimed at young people. OPINION: Ever heard of the quote: “buy cheap, buy twice?” I never really understood it until I was on the phone at 11pm last night, in full panic mode talking to my third-party travel agents who stoically informed me that they cancelled my flight from Auckland to London next week. “Only one flight of the six I’m taking got cancelled, my first flight is next week, so you’ll help me find alternative flights, right? ” “No, we’ve now cancelled all six flights. WATCH: ‘What Is A Woman?’ New Trailer For Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh Documentary Revealed | The Daily Wire
“What is a woman?” That is what Daily Wire host Matt Walsh wants to know. It seems like a simple question, yet with today’s gender ideology and activism, getting a clear answer appears elusive. Walsh, a husband, father, host, speaker, and author, travels the country and beyond in a new documentary asking this very question and trying to find a definite answer, only to be met with confusion and hostility from those telling children that they can change their sex. “I sought out experts in every field in the gender theory world — doctors, therapists, psychiatrists, psychologists, politicians, activists, and transgender people themselves — and I put the question to them directly,” Walsh said. “I found — and you’ll see in the film — their arguments collapsed not with hammer blows or a hard push, but with simple questions, because the core of gender ideology is hollow.” The documentary is available to stream exclusively for Daily Wire members on June 1. Starbucks to cover abortion travel costs for employees
Starbucks will cover the costs for employees who must travel for abortion and gender-affirming procedures, the coffee chain announced on Monday, joining a growing list of companies to offer the benefit. Expanding the existing medical insurance offered to its workers, the Seattle-based company will reimburse transportation expenses for workers enrolled for its medical insurance and their dependents who don't have access to the procedures within 100 miles of their home. After several states enacted restrictive reproductive health care laws, companies including Amazon, Apple, Citigroup, Microsoft and Salesforce said they would reimburse workers who get abortions in other states. A ruling from the U.S. Supreme Court that would effectively strike down Roe v. Wade could pressure additional companies to similarly reimburse employees. "Like many of you, I'm deeply concerned by the draft Supreme Court opinion related to the constitutional right to abortion that was first … [Read more...] about Starbucks to cover abortion travel costs for employees
The Time Traveler’s Wife: Doctor Who writer Steven Moffat delivers a smart, sensitive romantic drama
SUPPLIED Based on the novel by Audrey Niffenegger, The Time Traveler's Wife follows a couple whose relationship is tested by involuntary time travel. REVIEW: While some may bridle at yet another TV series based on a book that Hollywood has already had a crack at on the big screen, you have to admit it is a canny and compelling choice of screenwriter. Who better than the man who dragged Doctor Who into the 21st Century and elevated it to one of the most addictive shows on the box – as he first wrote for Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant’s timelords and then oversaw the tenures of Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi – to pen a six-part adaptation of Audrey Niffenegger’s beloved 2003 sci-fi romance The Time Traveler’s Wife (now streaming on Neon and debuting on Vibe this Thursday)? After all, it was he who created the sparky timey-wimey-blighted love affair between Smith’s Tardis-dweller and Alex Kingston’s magnificent River Song. And helped the phrase, “spoilers sweetie”, … [Read more...] about The Time Traveler’s Wife: Doctor Who writer Steven Moffat delivers a smart, sensitive romantic drama
