BIG travel companies like Jet2 and easyJet have seen a surge in bookings following the PM's lockdown announcement - and Spain is among the most popular holiday spots. Boris Johnson announced this week that no decision would come on foreign travel until April 12, with trips no earlier than May 17 - but despite this there is huge demand for travel. TUI reported that trips to Spain from July onwards were among the most booked overnight following the prime minister's announcement, with bookings up 500 per cent. Earlier this month, Spain said it could be welcoming tourists again within months amid plans for a “ vaccine passport ”. The country’s tourism chief said UK travellers could be heading for the Costas as soon as summer. Northern Ireland loyalists pull support for Good Friday peace deal
Loyalist paramilitary organizations in Northern Ireland were on Thursday reported to have told London they are temporarily withdrawing support for the 1998 peace agreement, often called the Good Friday Agreement. The decision was taken amid concerns over the UK's Brexit deal with the European Union, Northern Irish newspaper the Belfast Telegraph reported . A letter from an umbrella body representing loyalist groups said its opposition was because of the Northern Irish Protocol — part of the Brexit divorce deal. David Beckham ‘signs seven-figure Disney+ deal for TV show on young footballers’
David Beckham has reportedly set to make a new TV series about underprivileged young footballers for Disney+. The legendary British footballer, 45, is said to have signed a seven-figure deal with the streaming service to make the new series. A source told The Sun: "David was approached by Disney+ about making the show and he was very taken with the idea because it really reflects his own experiences growing up. Plus he’s still so committed to young talent in the game. "He will be acting as a mentor figure to a group of young people growing up in the inner cities whose lives are being changed by football."
