It has been pouring down in parts of Wales on Friday morning, and the bad news is that the weekend is not going to get much better. Heavy and torrential downpours of rain were moving across Wales on Friday morning making way for a drier and brighter afternoon and evening. But more rain is on the way this weekend as the jet stream moves to bring an area of low pressure. The low pressure will cause a changeable start to the weekend with widespread rain blanketing most of Wales and northern England on Saturday with blustery winds blowing in from the southwest. Channel 4 weather presenter Liam Dutton said: "For much of this summer, the jet stream has been well north of the UK and weak. "However, it's moving southwards and picking up speed. Wales looks set to enjoy a second sunny and warm bank holiday to end May. The current warm weather looks set to continue, but could be temporarily disrupted by thunderstorms that are lurking close to the UK. High pressure is set to continue to dominate throughout the week with heat building into the late May Bank Holiday weekend, and temperatures soaring to around 5C to 8C above average. Temperatures in Wales could be warm in the low to mid 20Cs. The forecast is great news for revellers heading to Swansea's Radio 1 Biggest Weekend to watch Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran. As gear up to attend one of this year's biggest spectator sporting fixtures, the weather will be on many minds this morning (March 24). Will it stay dry, or do those ominous clouds suggest there will be downpours by the time the main races kick off at 4.31pm?
