Ciaran Clark believes that team spirit at Newcastle United remains high despite a tough start to the new season. The Magpies face a daunting trip to Manchester City this weekend with Clark and his team-mates looking to get the League Cup exit at Nottingham Forest out of their systems. The start of the season has also resulted in several pundits heaping harsh criticism on the club despite the fact low spenders Newcastle were handed games against four of the top six in their first few games. Rafa Benitez took to Instagram to post a simple message - accompanied by a picture of players enjoying training - before the trip to City which read: “Newcastle United FC training session. The hard work becomes easier when we have team spirit.” Reflecting on some of the negativity in the media in recent times, Clark told the Chronicle: “People have seen stuff that has been said recently. “I can’t say more about how good the team spirit actually is. “The … [Read more...] about Ciaran Clark gives insight to Newcastle United’s mentality behind the scenes

Yahoo Sports’ Graham Ruthven, after the collapse of talks between Ashley and billionaire financier Amanda Staveley and far fetched rumours that boxing legend Floyd Mayweather is interested in buying the club, has called for the circus to stop and United fans to take control of their club.
