One minute she’s navigating her desires in teen telly drama Sex Education and the next she’s bodice-ripping in Bridgerton. Yes, it’s been a hectic couple of years for Simone Ashley, 25. And it’s only going to get busier if the plaudits coming her way are anything to go by. Simone plays Kate Sharma, a woman out to steal Duke Anthony from the arms of his intended in season two of Bridgerton – the Netflix hit watched by 83million worldwide. She is the first South Asian actress in the drama and Simone admits her career has shocked her traditional Indian family – and that her parents find it “scary and unsettling.” Simone has come a long way since persuading her parents to let her go to a performing arts school. COVID-19: New West Bank lockdown as Palestinians faces surge of coronavirus cases
A new lockdown has been imposed across the West Bank as Palestinians face a fresh surge of coronavirus cases and a continued wait for a proper vaccine rollout. The Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh announced the 12-day shutdown late on Saturday and blamed it on the struggle to get vaccines delivered to the territory. In the last 24 hours there have been 910 new cases and five deaths in the West Bank. To date Palestinians in the West Bank have received 10,000 doses of Russia's Sputnik vaccine. A separate delivery of 20,000 Russian vaccines has been delivered to the other Palestinian territory, Gaza. Advertisement The Covax scheme, the global initiative to get vaccines to poorer nations, has yet to provide any for Palestinians but a delivery is expected this week. Israel has now vaccinated half of its population but has only provided 2,000 jabs to the West Bank. Woman discovers husband’s bigamy and secret life after seeing photo of bride who wasn’t her
A woman has described the moment she discovered her husband was a bigamist who had been living a secret life 100 miles away. Yve Gibney, now 60, can remember staring in disbelief at a wedding day photo of her spouse - showing a woman who wasn't her. She had met husband Maurice in Nigeria and they had married after a three-month romance, Birmingham Live reports. But, after 17 years of marriage, she discovered her other half had met another woman who lived in Stourbridge, Worcestershire.
