WASHINGTON -- The United States' top intelligence official has quietly revealed key new details about Russia's alleged violations of a bedrock Cold War nuclear treaty, an unexpected move that comes as U.S. officials push to build new support from European allies. Congress, meanwhile, is gearing up for a new fight over U.S. arms-control policy, even as President Donald Trump's administration intends to withdraw from the 1987 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces treaty (INF) and has signaled lukewarm support for another even bigger nuclear treaty. Taken together, the developments mark a new phase in the fight between Moscow and Washington over the fate of their two nuclear arsenals, and highlight fears that the two countries are sliding into a new arms race. Beginning in 2014, the United States publicly accused Russia of violating the INF, which eliminated, among other things, an entire class of intermediate-range missiles. In the investing world, there's no such thing as a free lunch. But that all changed last week, when Fidelity Investments, the mutual fund and brokerage giant, launched two stock index funds with zero expenses. To be clear, this is a unique thing in the financial industry. It costs a firm money to operate a fund, which includes costs for things like office space, employee salaries, trading, regulatory filings and legal expenses. Fidelity is the first major fund manager willing to absorb these costs for two of its index funds. The new zero-cost funds mean that investors in these funds will experience the same returns as provided by the broad range of stocks that make up the index, without any loss of returns because of fees. The two new funds are the Fidelity Zero Total Market Index Fund (FZROX) and the Fidelity Zero Internal Index Fund (FZILX.) We’d been introduced by a mutual friend and after a couple of beers and a long chat we came up with the conceptual idea. Within a few weeks we’d dropped everything and began setting up the business" said Richard. Born and bred in Flixton he had ambitions to work in the IT industry from a young age. His parents were hard-workers and encouraged his passion: "My dad was an engineer by trade, so I think I got my inquisitive mind from him. My parents practically had to force me … [Read more...] about From a pint in the student bar to a leading UK tech firm and offices in New York
