England’s 8million state school pupils are today flooding back to full classes for the first time since December. In the national lockdown, only vulnerable or key workers’ children could attend in person with the rest learning at home. Now all schools are opening to all pupils in the same week in Step One of Boris Johnson ’s roadmap out of lockdown. Secondary pupils will get twice-a-week tests and be told to wear face masks in the classroom to slow the spread. But worried unions had wanted a phased reopening amid fears it could lead to a rise of Covid rates in the community. Starfish can regenerate their arms, salamanders are able to grow new tails, and axolotls re-form their spinal cords - but scientists have found sea slugs that can grow a whole new body. Researchers discovered two species of sea slug that can grow bodies complete with a heart and other internal organs while observing them for other studies. One of the creatures was seen moving around without its body on one occasion, and another was seen doing the same thing twice. The head moved on its own immediately after being separated from the body - and within just days the wound at the back of the head had closed, according to the study published in peer-reviewed journal, Current Biology. The report also found the heads of young sea slugs started to feed on algae within hours of detachment, and they started regenerating a heart within a week, while the heads of older individuals died in about 10 days. Virgin Atlantic is paying tribute to Sir Richard Branson 's late mother Eve Branson, by naming one of its new A350 planes after her. Mrs Branson sadly passed away in January aged 96, after a battle with coronavirus. The airline announced that it would be marking International Women's Day by naming two new aircraft after inspirational women; one honouring Eve, the other paying tribute to Emmeline Pankhurst. The A350 paying homage to Eve Branson will be named 'Fearless Lady' and be registered as G-VEVE. When announcing the news of his mother's passing earlier this year, Richard Branson wrote a touching post in which he said that "rather than mourn her loss, I want to celebrate her wonderful life, her tremendous spirit".
