New disney ship
A little girl waiting for a new heart will be treated like a princess for a day thanks to Disney On Ice. Chanel Murrish has been through 23 operations, including four open-heart surgeries, after being born with half a heart. And through it all, her favourite Rapunzel dolly has been by her side. She even asked to be woken with a kiss by her favourite Disney character after undergoing her latest surgery last August. And now the four-year-old’s dreams will come true as she has been invited to take part in the new Disney On Ice show when it comes to Newcastle. Chanel has never missed a Disney on Ice show since she was born, and was even given special permission from a doctor to attend last year while her chest was still open from her operation. TV presenter Tess Daly joined patients and their families at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) for the unveiling of a new Disney play area for sick children.The colourful, underwater-themed outdoor space, known as the Disney Reef and featuring children’s favourites Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Ariel and Finding Dory’s Hank, aims to provide somewhere young patients can have fun during their often lengthy stays.Candace Livingstone, whose son Elliott spent what the hospital said was a record 400 days at GOSH on a mechanical Berlin Heart, said the special play area will become a haven for families.Elliott, aged four, joined Daly to open the space. Ms Livingstone, from Hampshire, said: “Elliott loves ships and Disney, and I know he’d have so enjoyed spending time here while we were staying in the hospital.“I’m sure many families will see this as a haven, a place for their children to play and to relax. A LAKE District hotel and dining venue has recruited a hospitality professional with extensive international experience. In a south to north move which bucks the trend for the industry, Alex Lunan, 31, from London has joined the team at the Wild Boar Inn Grill & Smokehouse as its new restaurant manager. The inn at Crook, near Windermere, which is run by English Lakes Hotels Resorts & Venues, appointed Alex to the role as a result of an impressive CV and wide ranging restaurant venue management experience which has taken her across the globe. Alex has worked in the hospitality industry for more than 13 years, including a number of overseas roles, notably in the US and Australia, as well a six month assignment on a cruise ship around the Bahamas.
