Kaia Gerber sports a summery tank top with jeans while making a coffee run by the beach in Malibu

· February 24, 2021 ·

Like many, she narrowly avoided making a mess of her car with a simple mistake. But thankfully, Kaia Gerber remembered to grab her to-go cup from the roof of her car before driving off, when she was seen making a coffee run in Malibu, California on Tuesday. The gorgeous model, 19, kept things casual in a pair of jeans and a gray crop top as temperatures reached into the high 70s on a winter day in Southern California. Cars you will own at each decade of your life as study shows Brits’ dream motors

· February 24, 2021 ·

Brits won't own their dream car until they are 47 but it must be a black sports car - preferably an Audi or Aston Martin, according to research. A study of 2,000 drivers found many know what they want, but most will have to wait before making the dream a reality, owning more practical or affordable alternatives in the meantime. In their twenties, Brits are most likely to own a supermini or saloon car, while a hatchback or an estate are popular choices for those in their thirties. On reaching the big 4-0 Brits are more likely to opt for an SUV or people carrier. But no matter what the car, people insist on the 'basic' luxuries like heated seats (43 per cent) and built in satnav (44 per cent). Do you enjoy reading about politics? Ex-Aviva CEO Wilson returns to fray with insurance venture Abacai

· February 24, 2021 ·

Mark Wilson, the former Aviva chief executive, is staging a return to the British insurance sector by spearheading a new venture to target a share of the £16bn motor insurance market. Sky News has learnt that Mr Wilson has teamed up with Sun Capital Partners, a London-based private equity firm, to launch Abacai Holdings, an insurance technology - insurtech - company. The business will be created by merging Abacai with Complete Cover Group (CCG), an insurance distribution and underwriting business owned by Sun Capital. Insiders said that Abacai intended to invest £50m in creating a new artificial intelligence platform, underlining the growing use of data and AI across an industry which has traditionally been slow to embrace cutting-edge technology. Sources said the details of Abacai's plans would be contained in an announcement which is scheduled to be made on Thursday morning. Insurance renewals face curbs to reverse £1.2bn ‘loyalty penalty’

· September 22, 2020 ·

The City regulator has announced plans to curb charging practices for automatic home and car insurance renewals, to help restore "fair value and trust" in the market. The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) said its proposals would ensure that customers would pay no more on renewals than if they were a new customer to their provider. It was the headline measure as the watchdog moved to tackle findings in 2018 that six million consumers' failure to switch providers meant they were paying a £1.2bn "loyalty penalty". The FCA hoped its proposed shake-up, which is now subject to consultation, would save households £3.7bn over 10 years. It explained that its planned renewal restriction would only apply through the same sales channel. Advertisement For example, if the customer bought the policy online, they would be charged the same price as a new customer buying online. Firms would be free to set new-business prices, but they would be prevented from … [Read more...] about Insurance renewals face curbs to reverse £1.2bn ‘loyalty penalty’

Tiger Woods: Major comeback for golf star this time could be simply returning to a pain-free life

· February 24, 2021 ·

In the depths of his comeback challenge after the triple-pronged collapse of his personal life, his ailing back and his form on the course, Tiger Woods said his central ambition was to lead a pain-free life. As he recovers in hospital, legs shattered by the force of a car crash he was lucky to survive, being pain free will again become his focus. Surgeons who treated 45-year-old Woods say he suffered "comminuted open fractures affecting both the upper and lower portions of the tibia and fibula bones". In layman's terms, that means both his shin and calf bones were splintered into multiple pieces and pierced the skin. His foot and ankle are stabilised with a combination of screws and pins and the muscles surrounding the bones were cut to relieve swelling. Advertisement It's safe to say returning to a glittering golfing career will have been relegated below ensuring that he can play with his two children again.
