Q. I’m 73 and have recently been through a very traumatic year, which seems to have accelerated the ageing process. My face has dropped and become very wrinkled! Am I too old for a facelift? A. Top plastic surgeon Patrick Mallucci says that good health is more relevant than age when it comes to deciding who is a good candidate for surgery. Mr Mallucci says he has treated fit and healthy people in their 70s and denied plastic surgery to 30-somethings on the grounds of an unhealthy lifestyle. An anonymous reader asked British beauty expert Inge van Lotringen for advice on whether 73-year-olds should get a facelift (Stock image) ‘It’s more important you get a thorough consultation on the pros, cons and risks of surgery as well as your suitability for non-surgical options such as injectables, ultrasound and radiofrequency treatment,’ he says. ‘Booking this with the person you are considering performing the procedure is essential; it carries an extra cost but … [Read more...] about Shh! Meat has successfully been grown in space for the first time using a 3D bioprinter. Bovine cells taken from cows on earth were transported to the International Space Station before being grown into muscle-tissue to create a small strip of steak. You have to hand it to them. WAGs are the gift that so brilliantly, so reliably, keeps on giving. There couldn't be a better time for Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy to wage war. We're all desperate for a bit of escapism and this is a blockbuster. Particularly joyous is the way Coleen posted a trail of fake stories on her private Instagram account while increasingly blocking followers to finally deduce who alone would be in a position to leak them. I wonder who came up with that idea? WAG wars: Coleen Rooney's battle with Rebekah Vardy is perfect 'escapism,' according to Alexandra Shulman Was it one of the army of legal, PR and reputational management brains she and Wayne presumably have on speed dial? I suspect it was more likely Coleen's very own work, cooked up on the corner sofa, perhaps with a glass of Veuve Clicquot. The biggest mystery though is why anyone in the position of either woman would decide to use Twitter and Instagram for the battleground. Such gems as Coleen's … [Read more...] about ALEXANDRA SHULMAN’S NOTEBOOK: WAGs at war is just what gloom-laden Britain needs
Just like humans, no two dogs are ever the same. And increasingly, our understanding of people’s different dietary needs is creating a similar awareness of problems our dogs might have. And from dairy intolerance to gluten allergies, our dogs can get the same tummy troubles from foods that we do, so making the right choices for their mealtimes can make a big difference. That’s why British brand Butcher’s have tailored their food for dogs to suit every type of dog and their many different nutritional needs. From dairy intolerance to gluten allergies, our dogs can get the same tummy troubles as we do ‘Different dogs require different nutrients,’ explains Dr Lucy Williamson a registered nutritionist who discovered the … [Read more...] about DOGliciously Ella! Why your pooch might need a gluten and dairy free diet (and how if they do, it’s easy to cope with)
