Ruby Hill is told nearly every day how great she looks because she's lost so much weight. Yet, she has a rare and debilitating digestive condition that is killing her. For the last three years, the 22-year-old has struggled to get food down without throwing up and now weighs just 42kg. She relies on a feeding tube to keep her alive but even that holds the threat of one day killing her. Her questions are endless and the answers she is given are limited. There is no cure and few doctors have heard of her disease. Hill's story started when she was just 19 years old, training to be a pilot in Ardmore. A PREGNANT mum who refused to abort her “vampire baby” nearly died after her weight plummeted to a frail five stone. Shannon Handyside, 23, from South Shields, Tyne and Wear, suffered from an extreme sickness called hyperemesis gravidarum. Determined to keep her and boyfriend Matty's baby, doctors were forced to feed Shannon through a tube to keep her alive. When her daughter Ivy was born healthy on Friday 13 November 2015 - the unluckiest day of the year - Shannon couldn’t believe it. "I was sure my little girl arriving four weeks early on the unluckiest night of the year was yet another bad omen for my cursed pregnancy," she said. MORE than 50 British schoolkids and teachers have been rushed to hospital in Washington DC after suddenly falling sick during a trip to New York. The group, believed to be mainly teenagers, were struck down with what was initially suspected as chronic food poisoning and sought emergency medical help on arrival in the capital. Pupils from Crookhorn College in Waterlooville, near Portsmouth were meant to be enjoying a visit to New York and Washington DC when 48 kids and three teachers were struck down with a mystery illness.
