A North-South divide has emerged as England prepares to emerge from its third lockdown. London and the South East, despite being crippled by the new Kent variant over Christmas, has seen cases plummet in recent weeks. Now nearly all of England's hotspots for Covid are in the North or the Midlands. Millions in the country are now being vaccinated although so far only people aged over 60 have been called forward. But cases are continuing to circulate, especially among younger age groups not yet protected. And the latest data shows the lockdown is struggling to contain stubbornly high infection rates in the Midlands and areas of the North. What do you think of this story? Last night crowds in Exeter sat alongside the River Exe enjoying the warm weather while watching the sunset. The sun-basking Brits were pictured sitting in groups of more than three people breaking the current lockdown restrictions in place. Teen, 19, stabbed to death in West London as cops launch murder probe

A TEENAGER was stabbed to death following a fatal attack in West London. The boy, thought to be aged 19, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene in Paddington Green at 10pm last night. A murder investigation has now been launched into the fatal stabbing. Cops have warned that the crime scene is going to be in place "for some time." The 19-year-old victim was pronounced dead after medics from both the ambulance and air ambulance attended the scene. Despite their best efforts, they were unable to save the teenage victim. Police have also been granted additional search powers in the local area until early tomorrow morning. No arrests into the tragic ordeal have been made yet. Horrific injuries of football coach tortured for 48 hours by thugs who filmed themselves carving ‘nonse’ on his back

A FOOTBALL coach suffered horrific injuries after being tortured by a pack of savages who carved the word "nonse" into his back. Jordan Storey was attacked with an axe, sledgehammer, knife, dumbbell bar and a dog chain during the 48-hour nightmare ordeal. The thugs also tied him to a chair and set his hands and feet on fire as they carved the incorrectly spelled word "nonse" into his back - despite there being no suggestion he had done anything wrong. Terrified Jordan, 28, believed he would be murdered as the gang discussed killing him and dumping his body before framing him for rape. The brave football coach allowed photos of his horror injuries to be released as the foursome were caged yesterday for a total of 31 years. Jamie Barker, Lewis Herman and Rebecca McNally admitted wounding with intent while Chelsea Wilson-Ford admitted unlawful wounding at Newcastle Crown Court. US House passes Biden’s $1.9 trillion COVID relief bill

The US House of Representatives approved a $1.9 trillion (€1.57 trillion) coronavirus stimulus fund in the early hours of Saturday morning. Lawmakers passed the bill — aimed at giving money to individuals, businesses, states and cities hit hard by the pandemic — on a narrow, near party-line vote of 219 to 212. President Joe Biden has been pushing for the relief package, saying it will be used to stimulate the economy and create new jobs. All Republican representatives voted against the bill, which will now go to the Senate, where many progressive Democrats are also keen on resuscitating a drive for an increase to the minimum wage.
