ALMOST £170million is up for grabs this week with two huge lottery jackpots. The lucky EuroMillions jackpot winner would find themselves in third place on the National Lottery rich list. On Tuesday night, EuroMillions has an estimated £143 million on offer, and on Wednesday the Lotto has a £26.3 million top prize. Camelot said a single winner in Wednesday's Lotto draw would place fifth on the National Lottery Lotto rich list. As the Lotto jackpot reached its cap in Saturday's draw it now has to be won on Wednesday, meaning players could get multimillion-pound prizes for matching fewer numbers. Quarter Primary have scooped ‘Best Environment Project’ at the National Lottery Good Causes Awards. The school transformed their outdoor space into a pollinator-friendly habitat. And pupils were encouraged to protect pollinating insects, and help increase the number and diversity of species in South Lanarkshire. Teacher Louise Marko said: “We are incredibly proud to be a part of such a vital project. “The children have loved learning about pollination and the many different insect species that we need to protect.” Children at Quarter Primary teamed up with environmental and education charity Learning through Landscapes to take part in the Polli:Nation project. The Gambling Commission announced the penalty as it said it had completed an investigation into historic control and governance failings at Camelot. Maltco Lotteries Limited (Malta), who operates the national lottery, generated sales of €92.6 million over three categories (draw-based games, instant games and sports games) in 2017, up slightly from the previous year, the Malta Gaming Authority’s report for 2017 has revealed. The same report also showed that sales from draw-based games increased consistently, while sales for sport games has turned to 2015 levels after increasing by 14% in 2016. Sales for instant games grew by 4% between 2015 and 2017. In 2017, sales of draw-based games accounted for 75.9% of the total Maltco’s sales of €92.6 million. Sports games accounted for 22.4% of sales whilst instant games represented 1.7% of sales The total gaming tax paid by Maltco increased to €12.8 million in 2017 up from €12.4 million in 2016.
