Plymouth Argyle striker Nathan Blissett is on target to win the National League title with Macclesfield Town. Macclesfield have opened up a nine-point lead at the top of the table after winning their last three matches. They are now closing in on a return to the EFL for the first time since 2012. Blissett scored in the 89th minute when Macclesfield when they won 1-0 at home to Gateshead last Tuesday. The 27-year-old was also on target in a 3-2 victory at Woking on Good Friday. Blissett then led the line for Macclesfield when they won 1-0 at home to Chester on Easter Monday, which put them another step closer to the title. The Cheshire club are nine points clear of second-placed Sutton United, although they have played one more match than them. BIRMINGHAM & Solihull Bees took another important step towards securing an automatic promotion spot in the Midlands Premier with a comprehensive 47-14 victory against Nuneaton. With just six games now remaining, the bonus-point win stretches their lead to 11 points with a game in hand over nearest rivals Peterborough Lions.
