His words sparked backlash, as they not only seemed to toy with the idea of censorship but also evoked the language of authorities’ long-standing moral panic over music created by Black and brown artists. Adams, a former NYPD cop, walked back his comments following a meeting with several rappers — including Fivio Foreign and Maino — which he described as a “great conversation,” and claimed to have reassured performers that he didn’t want to ban drill outright. On August 16, the solo artist officially announced the release date of his new song by posting a teaser image of the song on Twitter. With its dark blue colour and small blue and white star-like specks, the teaser image conjures up thoughts of outer space. The upcoming song is scheduled to release on August 16. Recently, Jay received a lot of praise for his song GANADARA that released in March and in July; and has been displaying his musical style, with other songs like Need to Know. The Kelly Clarkson Show announced it’ll be going on an American Idol –like mini-tour ahead of its September 12 premiere in which fans can step onto Clarkson’s tour bus to perform a virtual duet of her breakout hit. Fellow Scot Paolo Nutini tops the album chart with his first release in eight years, Last Night in the Bittersweet.
