By Laman Ismayilova Sheki, an ancient Azerbaijani town featuring a majestic landscape, comes alive with sounds and colours. The 9th Silk Way International Music Festival opened its doors to music lovers on June 27. The long-anticipated festival is co-organized by Azerbaijan Union of Composers, Azerbaijan Ministry of Culture and Sheki Executive Power, Trend Life reported. The music festival brings together the best of local and international artists from Turkey, Russia, Hungary and Kazakhstan. Addressing the opening ceremony of the event, the artistic director of the festival, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Union of Composers Firangiz Alizade noted that the 9th Silk Way International Music Festival will leave a memorable impression. The first ever Dartmoor Resonance Festival has seen a diverse range of musical events across Dartmoor’s communities including in Tavistock, Okehampton, Princetown, Postbridge, Clearbrook and Ashburton. The core idea behind the festival is that all the music should have a Dartmoor connection, covering a wide range of genres including classical, choral, folk, and jazz.In Okehampton, Fairplace Church hosted a day of workshops for fiddle players of all abilities using tunes from fiddler William Andrew of Sheepstor. The workshops were led by Wren Music tutors Nick Wyke and Becki Driscoll. Huge Read gin and music festival will prove just the tonic for charity
An inaugural outdoor gin, beer and music festival is hoping to raise thousands for charity. More than 100 gins will be available to sample on the day along with a selection of award-winning beers and wines.Festival goers will also be treated to a stellar lineup of music featuring The Lionels, Jeramiah Ferrari, Paris Taylor, Furious Styles, They’re Coming To Get You Barbara and Georgia Barker.Money raised from the event will go to Pendleside Hospice and organiser Chris Bird said they were hoping to sell 2,000 tickets for the event.“Tickets are £20 with £5 going to the hospice, £1 to Read Football Club and a further £1 to the cricket club. Archant © 2017 A popular music festival will return to Beccles this summer with a variety of local performers showcasing their talents. The Harvest Moon Music Festival is now in its 11th year and will be held at Beccles Quay on Saturday, August 11. Organised by Beccles Community Arts (BCA), the main stage will see 11 bands and musicians performing from noon, with a second acoustic stage introduced this year to give new musicians the chance to perform. The line-up will see Owl and Wolves kicking off the music at noon, followed by Harmonize at 12.55pm, The Oulton Broads at 1.20pm, Baden A at 2.15pm and The Velvatears at 2.40pm.
