Mum buys 100 christmas presents

A heartbroken mum described how she held her four-year-old son in her arms as he died after he inhaled a drawing pin. Ayla Rutherford was getting in the shower last month when she heard her family screaming downstairs. She rushed in the room to find her husband Josh, 29, performing the Heimlich manoeuvre on their little boy, Axel. The 29-year-old still had no idea what had happened when she realised their efforts were failing as Axel lost consciousness. After rushing the little boy to hospital, doctors found Axel had not been choking but had inhaled a common household drawing pin, which had pierced through his left lung and left him unable to breathe. A concerned mum is worried breast implants will kill her daughter unless they are removed as soon as possible. Charlotte Evonston, from Manchester, has lived with severe illnesses for years since having breast implant surgery when she was 21. The 34-year-old has been admitted into hospital several times and believes the illnesses are linked to her breast implants, reports the Manchester Evening News. Breast implant illness is not currently recognised as an official medical diagnosis but according to Breastcancer.org, the term is used to refer to a wide range of symptoms that can develop after undergoing reconstruction or cosmetic augmentation with breast implants. A mum who was diagnosed with stage four cancer during the pandemic has said the £20 a week Universal Credit uplift has been vital in her access to care over the past year. Judith Neptial, 49, said she will struggle to attend medical appointments from April when the Chancellor withdraws emergency support. Neptial is one of 100,000 cancer sufferers who have struggled to afford food, rent and bills in the past year due to their inability to work. The total number of people struggling, according to charity Macmillan Cancer, is half a million in the UK. The figures come as the Chancellor prepares to withdraw the £20 a week Universal Credit uplift introduced as a lifeline for millions of people last April. Rishi Sunak is to resist a massive tax claw back of the £400billion he’s spent on Covid in Wednesday’s Budget despite UK debt hitting £2.1trillion. In an exclusive interview shadow Chancellor Anneliese Dodds tells him: “Now is not the time.” Instead the Chancellor will give 700,000 shops, pubs, clubs, hotels, restaurants, gyms and hair salons up to £18,000 each to kickstart businesses after the Covid shutdown. Mr Sunak said of his £5billion Restart Grant scheme: “The extra cash will ensure our high street can open their doors with optimism.” Another £425million will go to local authorities to help businesses not covered by the scheme. The Chancellor will also boost the housing market with 95 per cent mortgages from April and a further three month Stamp Duty holiday.
