Between periods, hormone changes and childbirth, our poor vaginas cop a lot. With the first vagina spa clinic launching in London soon, they’re also a hot topic. The clinic will be offering expensive and dubious practises including a 24K gold ‘vajacial’ (gold infused waxing and LED light treatment), ‘O-shots’ (having your own blood platelets injected into your vaginal tissue) and vaginal steaming. Should we all be booking appointments? In my opinion, no. Most of the these ‘treatments’ have been mocked by gynaecologists world-wide and have little or no evidence to back them up. Not only that, it’s yet another pressure on women to make even our hidden bits look a certain way. You don’t need expensive spa visits to stay in good shape. Here’s all you need to know to have a happy, healthy vagina - naturally. There is something “girlie” about blusher. Hence, there is an idea it has an age limit. Total nonsense, of course, as shown at Chanel AW19. Yes, it has youthfulness written all over it, but it is magic for a complexion that needs resuscitation. Nailing technique, shade and texture is key. For decades, consumers worldwide have named the $347bn pharmaceutical behemoth Johnson & Johnson as one of its most trusted brands. The company returned the favor, instilling its commitment to corporate social responsibility in a 75-year-old “credo” inscribed at company headquarters. “We believe our first responsibility is to the patients, doctors and nurses, to mothers and fathers and all others who use our products and services. In meeting their needs everything we do must be of high quality.” The company has been a household name for more than 100 years with a reassuringly cozy image as the quintessential family brand of baby powder, baby shampoo and the maker of Band-Aids. But it is also the name behind a huge range of drugs and medical devices. And in recent years it has been clobbered by lawsuits and huge payouts involving a dizzying array of products, from an anti-psychotic drug to that famous talcum powder and even a patented opium poppy called … [Read more...] about Lawsuits, payouts, opioids crisis: what happened to Johnson & Johnson?
Compulsory labelling should be used in the cannabis industry to let users know how much tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) they are smoking, experts say. Health bosses have called for a unit system similar to the one used for alcohol to be employed in countries where the drug is legal. They claim it could also inform cannabis users in countries where the drug is illegal. Many have no idea how much THC they are consuming. THC is the main psychoactive compound in marijuana which gives users a high and can also trigger anxiety in some smokers. Cannabis use, particularly strains with high THC content, increases your risk of developing a psychotic illness such as schizophrenia.
