The 1975 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit was donated by husband and wife Joe and Mary Higgins, who have owned the car for the last 11 years.The car was received by the museum’s director, Darren Cunningham.A spokesman for the museum said: ’We are very pleased to have Norman Wisdom’s Rolls-Royce back on the Isle of Man and as a permanent piece of the Isle of Man Motor Museum collection. ’We are looking forward to hearing stories about Norman Wisdom from our many visitors.’ Once the battery has been removed and the fuel drained, it will take a prominent position within the museum.The car comes complete with his NMN 17 licence plate.Sir Norman lived in the island for much of his later life, first visiting in 1978, he bought his house Ballalaugh in Andreas in 1980. POLICE pulled over an "erratic" elderly driver on the M25... to find she had the entire contents of her home in her motor. The driver had been in the process of moving house when police stopped her - and were bowled over by what else was in the car. Crammed in her tiny car were her life's possessions, as she made a bold attempt to make the move in just one trip. Surrey Road Cops tweeted saying: “#M25 #Reigate J8 Public reported erratic driving. "Vehicle located and stopped, elderly driver failing to wear glasses as required and vehicle, well, untidy....” A photo of the car showed tennis racquets, skateboards, hats, blankets and a radio chucked higgledy-piggledy in the car. A number of Three Lions players have already been making arrangements for new motors while they are in Russia, according to a finance firm for luxury cars. Magnitude Finance, who deal with some of the UK's biggest celebrities, are allegedly preparing deals for a number of the football stars and their partners for when the tournament finishes. And according to the firm, players will fork out a whopping £215,000 on average for their summer ride. BRITAIN is facing a chaotic weekend on the roads, with soaring temperatures expected to cause a rise in the number of breakdowns. Roadside assistance providers are expecting at least a 10 per cent increase in the number of drivers needing help as cars fail in the heat. Vehicle recovery provider Green Flag predicted an extra 134,800 call outs this week to deal with a range of problems linked to rising temperatures. And Government failure to support cheap ways of cutting greenhouse gases, such as onshore wind, insulating homes and planting trees, will push up costs for consumers and the economy, the Committee on Climate Change said. Rapid reductions in greenhouse gases in the power sector masked a “marked failure” to cut emissions from other areas, such as buildings, agriculture and transport, the committee’s annual progress report to Parliament said.
