PEOPLE with troubling and unusual symptoms shouldn't delay in seeing their GP despite the Covid-19 pandemic, a cancer patient has warned. Breast cancer patient Alison Tait said early diagnoses could "save your life". Coronavirus restrictions have meant that Brits have been advised to "stay at home to protect the NHS" but this has meant that many people have been left feeling anxious about visiting their GP. Mum Alison Tait was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016 and was told it had spread to her liver. The lockdowns have been distressing for many people, but for Alison they have meant she had to attend her appointments alone. Despite this she is still urging others to come forward if they have any signs or symptoms of cancer. Simple pension pot error could leave you with £50,000 less than expected
THOUSANDS of pension savers are overestimating their future retirement pot by as much as £50,000. Research from consumer group Which? highlights how a worrying number of people don’t know much money they’ll get from their state pension . In some cases, savers are expecting up to £50,000 more than they’ll actually get, which could cause them money difficulties in later life. It also means some people could be saving far less than they need to in their private pensions, due to thinking that they’ll be getting a larger sum from the government. BRITS aged between 56 and 59 have been invited to receive their coronavirus vaccine as the rollout goes from strength to strength. It comes as Gavin Williamson admitted this morning that ministers are "looking at" a longer school day and shorter holidays to make up for lost education due to the pandemic . Three-quarters say NHS has dealt with Covid better than private firms in damning poll
Three-quarters of Brits say the NHS has been more effective than private firms in responding to Covid in a damning poll. The survey found 75% thought the NHS and local public health teams had been "more effective at handling the response to the pandemic". Just 9% chose private firms - such as those running Test and Trace contact-tracing - and the remaining 16% said they didn't know. The online poll of 1,002 UK adults for anti-privatisation group We Own It was carried out by Survation on February 23-25 - days before ministers proposed a "derisory" 1% pay rise for NHS staff.
