At least 21 people were injured Friday night in three separate shootings near Milwaukee's entertainment district, where thousands of people had been watching the Bucks play the Boston Celtics in Game 6 of the NBA's Eastern Conference semifinals. None of the injuries from the shootings are believed to be life-threatening, authorities said. The first shooting occurred around 9:10 p.m. local time near the Deer District — an entertainment district with numerous bars and restaurants where large crowds often assemble to watch major sporting events. The Milwaukee Fire Department said authorities transported two people, a 30-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl, and a third person drove to a hospital. A 29-year-old man of interest is in custody, and a gun was recovered. A little over an hour later, a nearby shooting left a 20-year-old man injured. No one has been taken into custody, police said. MILWAUKEE -- Jayson Tatum wasn't about to let it happen again. Two nights prior, the Boston Celtics had a prime opportunity to take control of the series but let Game 5 slip through their hands. That wasn't the case on Friday. As the Milwaukee Bucks made a push in the fourth quarter, Tatum seemingly had an answer at every turn. A spokesman for Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson said in a text that the team decided to cancel the event "after consultation with the city and public safety agencies.'' In a separate statement, the Bucks said: "The shootings that happened in downtown Milwaukee last night were horrific and we condemn this devastating violence," adding the watch party was canceled "to allow law enforcement to devote needed resources to the continued investigation of last night's events." BOSTON -- Robert Williams III will be available for the Boston Celtics on Sunday afternoon in Game 7 of their second-round playoff series against the Milwaukee Bucks , but he may not play his normal minutes -- if he plays at all. Celtics coach Ime Udoka said Williams, who has missed the past three games with left knee soreness, will be used "if needed." "He's available to play," Udoka said at his pregame news conference.
